CONGRATULATIONS KATE!!!!!!!!! Imogen is such a lovely name. What a fast labour you had after all those false starts, can't wait to hear your birth story! Angel, what did you get for the oral thrush? Carys's had it for a week and a half now, Nystatin didn't work and we;re now on the Daktarin oral gel (which I am also putting on my nipples) but it doesn't look like it's getting better. Had a bad night last night, Carys was feeding on the hour every hour, for 30-45 mins at a time, so I am totally knackered today. She must be having a growth spurt! Hi to everyone else Well done again KAte, Sarah xx

hey sezzy.. I have the Nystatin for mason, then the next day i phoned my dr and she wrote me up a prescription for Fluconazole capsules.. the thing is i didn't say before when i told yous i had had treatment for it as my Dr said although it is standard treatment for thrush it isn't licenced to be used when pg or feeding.. she gave me a leaflet to read with it which says that the amount of medication in your milk is 0.6mg where as if given to a newborn direct the dose would be 6.0mg so based on that i didn't see it as a risk, i just didn't want people to think bad of me taking something that way.. Msons mouth is getting better by the hour and my boobs are much better so i'm guessing its working for us both D you have pain inside your boobs? coz if its in your ducts a cream on nipples isn't gonna work, and you will just keep reinfecting lil carys through your milk, why not go back and see if they can give you something else? RE: the growth spurt, it is the same time mason started the crazy constant feeding, so i'd say it is growth spurt! try get some shut eye when she goes down, do you feed and sleep? i'd recommend it to anyone, i never knew about it in the early weeks with abbie and almost topped myself due to sleep deprivation.. i can laugh about it now but at the time i never thought id see an end to it..

Hi ladies, well will try to post birth story while typing one handed lol. Suffering severe sleep deprivation as couldn't get any sleep at hospital and Imogen wouldn't sleep last night and just wanted boob all night which is tricky when milks not in yet. She's a VERY sucky baby so trying a soother and she sometines sucks her fingers. Praying for milk to come in tomorrow. Anyway birth story. Did the deed at about 7.30 fri morning. About 20 mins later felt a pop and waters went all over bed! hospital said to come in to confirm waters had gone. Was given option to come back for induction in 24hrs if nothing happened or get admitted and hope to be induced that day. Had started contracting every 2-3 mins so expected to go into labour so we stayed there. Well everything strated to slow down and all stopped by 1pm. Was so frustrated but hoped the delivery unit would call me up for the induction. By 7pm still no news so i sent DH home. At about 10pm i had an emotional episode out of sheer frustration but after speaking with midwife i decided to watch BB and try to get some sleep. Suddenly at 10.45pm i had a massive contraction that lasted 4 mins, then they were every 2-3 mins and very strong. By 11.30pm I asked for them to call DH. Contractions were even stronger and every 1-2 mins. Bearing in mind i'm still on the antenatal ward i asked for pain relief, i got 2 paracetamol! and they suggested a bath, I was in agony but only 2cm dilated and only 50% effaced. DH arrived at 12.15 and ran me a bath, I could hardly get there and in the bath as contractions were now so intense and one on top of another. I just lay in the bath feeling out of it and screaming at poor DH if he so much as talked or touched me during a contraction. I as literally screaming like a banshee (sp?) which made DH panic so he somehow got me out the bath and carried me to my bed. I was begging for an epidural and the midwife kept saying its too soon you're only 2cm, i was crying saying i can't do it, just take the pain away then suddenly had a strong urge to push. She was telling me no and I was saying i can't i can't so she examined me, pushed the emergency button before dashing behind the curtain, DH heard her say we're having a baby then suddenly there were 4 people round the bed and she said just push when you need to. First push and she crowned, 2nd push her head was out and next push out she came. Imogen Nichole was born at 1.05am, 9th Aug weighing 6lb 12oz. I was still in the antenatal ward in a bay of 5 other pg ladies!!!. I was in total shock and couldn't stop shaking. The cord almost snapped off getting the placenta out and there was a perfect knot in it so i was rushed to theatre and told to expect a spinal - gutted! luckily a midwife tried a few tricks and we got it out but it was in pretty bad shape from the knot and all deformed but was out and intact. So that was it, 2 hrs 20 mins from 1st contraction but officially paperwork states 33 mins estalished labour and 2 mins for 2nd stage!! Sorry that was so long winded for such a quick labour, but looking back i still can't believe how quick it was and the fact i gave birth on 2 paracetamol!!! Sorry for no perso's. DH has cooked tea and Mum's here and just been told its ready. Will try to get back on tomorrow after hopefully a better nights sleep. Love to all, babies and bumps. Kate and Imogen xx

Hello ladies! Well i've done the opening up 2 tabs so i can reply to people properly. Ciaran has been loads better the last couple of days. That infacol is working wonders he is farting like a trooper which he couldn't before. He has a bit of diarrhea which i think is just from getting him used to a different type of food. He is still going about 3 hours in the night before he wants feeeding but occasionally he goes 4 hours which is bliss. Kate- Congratulations Imogen is a lovely name. Wowsers a 21/2 hour labour that is brill! God she does look like Ben now Petal has said it. Angel- So glad things are going well for you. I can't wait until Ciaran starts to go just another hour more for his feeds let alone the whole night. I can't imagine a time of a whole nights sleep. I don't think i have slept a whole night since i was about 8 weeks pregnant. From feeding to pee to being uncomfy to feeding a baby. What the hell does a whole night's sleep feel like? I guess i'll find out in a few years time! Sezzy- Wow every hour you must be exhaused especially as dh can't take over a feed. I'm sure you can do it though when Ciaran was going mad feeding my midwife said it was a growth spurt and i think she was right. Ooh not like Paula not to come on in a bit maybe there is another coming! Well i am all buliding up to my sisters wedding this saturday. I have got to go to a wedding practise tomorrow and have to try on my dress Thursday then again in the afternoon once she has done the alterations. I have bought some new make-up and a french manicure set and i am so looking forward to getting all dressed up and look nice. It has been so long since i have worn a lush dress for a start! Ciaran is really growing now i had to buy him new socks today as his other ones are too small. He is also starting to wear little outfits as his baby grows are getting snugger. He looks so cute in trousers! Bleeding is really coming to an end now i have a day of none then a day of a bit when i wipe but apart from that it has pretty much stopped. I just want to be back to normal now. I just have to keep telling myself i only gave birth a month ago it takes some people months to go back to normal but i am so impatient. I fit into all my clothes again now but i still want to lose a few pounds but it seems to just stick there no matter if i eat well or i don't i linger on the same weight. I look back to normal again but on the scales i have 11 pounds left. I don't mind not going back to that but 4 more pounds would be nice. I sound like a right divvy. Get a grip Amy Rome wasn't built in a day! Love to everyone. Amy and Ciaran. xxxxxxxxx Me- 28 DH-26 Ciaran Jacob was born Thursday 10th July at 10.38am. Weighing 7lb2oz.
