Help! I am currently 22 1/2 weeks pregnant with twin and work as a secretary. I am suffering terribly with backache at work. I have a very good chair but even so by mid afternoon I am in agony. Does anyone have any suggestions to help alieviate the pain?

Not being a medical person, I can only suggest that you have frequent breaks from sitting. Take time to get up and have a little stroll. It does get very uncomfortable sitting at a desk for long periods (I have just finished work two weeks ago to start my maternity leave) I was just getting too tired, plus I have been suffering from the SPD (can't spell it but will try - Symphis Pubis Dysfunction) where the pelvis is quite painful because the ligaments etc soften a little too much.

You should get your work place accessed to check that your chair and desk etc are all placed/adjusted correctly especially in your condition, but I appreciate that not all work places have this facility.

For further advice speak to your midwife - she may have some magic tricks up her sleeve.
