Hi Ladies
I've just come out of hospital and after speaking with the girls on my thread (nov) they thought it maight be a good idea to share this with you.
I am getting over pnemonia, which started off as a cold, then turned into a secondary infection then went to my lungs. However, I'm one of these eople who put a stiff upper lip on, and try to see myself through it.
However after speaking to the doctors and midwifes my symptoms were very similar to a life threatening condition which is common in pregnancy known as an embolism (sorry about the spelling)
I had a really nasty cough and was coughing up blood
Had pain in my chest and shortness of breath
had some swelling in my ankles
It is soo often over looked as my GP did exactly that, and I was left without sufficient treatment for 2 weeks, it was only when I was admitted to hospital that I had all the essential checks done to establish what was the cause of my symptoms.
Just thought I'd share this with you and hope that it may be of use to someone if they are having similar symptoms to stand up to their doctor and not be satisified by being told by their GP to go home and take some paracetamol..
maybe
