Hi, it's my first post and am after some advice... Im 32 weeks pregnant and have opted to have a c-section, and though there is no physical problem with either my baby or I, I do have an irrational fear of childbirth called primary tokophobia. I know that a lot of women feel down after delivering this way, but I am positive about it and would feel down if I had to give birth naturally. I have had to see a counsellor re my problem who agrees that I should be given a c section, along with my GP and midwife, but my consultant obstetrician is determined to try to change my mind re this, though as my fear is irrantional, I can't change it. I would like to know other peoples views on this, and especially from women who have had elective caesareans for the same reasons as me or just because they wanted to have one.

I personally have no experience of this but I do know people that have elected for C section after previous traumatic births.
You have to do what's best for you as you have to live with it.........if you feel that you'd be happier having a C section than giving birth naturally then don't let anyone else pursuade you otherwise. Its such a personal decision just like any birth plan.
Hope everything works out ok for you. Not long to go now then ?
