Kat: milktart does originate from SA so u might well not c it in your part of the world. Here is a recipe 4 anybody who's interested or would like to have a go @ making one:

Crustless Milk Tart Recipe

¾ cup / 185ml self-raising flour
2 cups / 500ml milk
2 eggs
¾ cup / 185 ml sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 oz / 25g melted butter
pinch salt
½ tsp cinnamon

Put all the ingredients together into a bowl or food processor and beat to a smooth batter. Pour into a buttered pie dish (approximately 23cm/9" in diameter, but it doesn't matter if it's not exact, the finished tart will just be either a bit deeper or shallower). Sprinkle the cinnamon over the top. Bake for 45 minutes at 175C / 350F. Serve warm or cold. It sinks and becomes denser as it cools. If you eat it hot you'll need a spoon to scoop up the soft custardy tart but cold you can pick up the slices in your hand, if it hasn't vanished long before then.

Yaya!! _ Fabulous Idea about the general chit chat thread, I love it!! Was thinking about something along the same lines myself what a good idea.

Recipe for Milk Tart looks good, I might try that sometime. I made the lushest chocolate cake the other week DP loves it! hehe!

Well I was a really good girl and did my exercise for half and hour then went to make a nice healthy salad and sliced my bloody finger open!!! Blood everywhere! Im sooo clumsy sometimes, managed to stop it bleeding now but it was a really deep cut I really am such a muppett!

Nice to see some new faces joining up for a good old gossip, I love it!!! Smiler Smiler

haha Kitkat!! I used to be really fit I did a lot of Dance, Gymnastic and Sports at school and tried to keep it up afterwards but ive been ill on an off last 3 nearly 4 years with seizures which make me soooo exhausted all the time so just got lazy but decided I wanna get my body as healthy as possible cos want to have a baby esp with the seizures I want to make sure im extra healthy so nothing else causes a problem. Started with the healthy eating over a month ago and its all good now im starting to actually crave fruit and veg instead of crap cos ive kept at it. Started with the fitness last week DP has been pushing me and set up a routine for me and I was soooo sore yest I had to have a day off but back at it today. Ive even got DP in to the healthy eating now when I first stopped all the junk he was moaning the whole way round asda cos I wouldnt allow any junk but he loves it now too . Its just getting used to it I think.

hi girls

flippin heck - i pop out to get a couple of rabbits and by the time i get back you've done another couple of pages!! Wink

kitkat - hi hun, how're u? lol @ yr and yaya cameroon conversation! i don't know where it is either - all i know about it i that when the world cup was on in 1990 they were playing in one of the first matches (can't remember who against!) and they were 100/1 outsiders so being someone who always veers to the side of the underdog i decided to put a £1 bet on and they only bloomin won - so i won £100 woo-hoo!! glad the kids eye tests went ok. Big Grin

yaya - mmmmm....that milk tart sounds scrummy - now i'm hungry! bought a lovely coffee gateau from the local bakers the other day and stuffed nearly half of it and then felt sick yuk!! Eeker

musswells - hi, don't think we've 'officially' met but i've read u over on parenting. Smiler

clairey - hope yr fingers ok hun - sounds like something i'd do! Eeker

maz - lol @ yr experience of personal messaging and finding the maybe baby thread! you're so funny! Razzer

well we are now the proud owners of 2 gorgeous fluffy bunnies - ds has named them del-boy and rodney Eeker but never mind lol! ones grey and ones black and white and they're sooooo cute!! i'm not really an 'animal' kind of person but dh grew up in the country surrounded by pets and stuff so thinks that kids need pets etc etc so i gave in!!

i'm glad we're back chatting again - i was getting withdrawal symptoms lol Smiler

see you all later, off to make tea

lots of love
Lisajane xxx
