I've got to pack my hospital bag and I'm not sure what I should take, do I need to pack newborn nappies or will the hospital supply them, and why do I need so many pairs on undies? Any 'old' mums out there who can tell me what is essential and what isn't?
Most hospitals ask you to take your own nappies and sanitary towels, as for the undies best bet is to buy some disposable undies (from boots or mothercare) and then you can just throw them away when you're finished with them, saves having to wash them when you get home with your new baby. They're not the prettiest of things but they are very practical.

Take lots of napys and also towels and breast pads for yourself- i ran out and kept having to make people go shopping for me! Also take a good book. My baby slet loads in the day while i was in hospital and the wait for your family to come visiting can be long! Good luck!

For you- sanitary towels, thick ones! (for the nine months of periods you havent had). bed wear, something while in labour and something for after. knickers! cleaning stuff You'll have a shower after the little one is born. clothes for when you come out of hospital. towels For baby- Nappies wipes- if you want to use them rather than cotton wool a few baby grows mittens- my son's nales were longer than mine when he was born! baby bath- for the babys first bath towels
i'd say there were the essential things.
