hi , hoping someone could help i'm 21 weeks pregnant tomorrow and for the past 4-5 days i have been getting really painful stomach pains it's not constant comes and go's . and feels like really really painful periods pains and/or like you really need to go to the toliet (no.2)
at first i thought maybe it's trapped wind, but i'm starting to think it's not that. i have no other symtoms.
anyone have an idea what this is ? and if it's normal, as i little concern, so i thought i'de ask you guys before i ask my midwfie
If I were you I would ring the emergency room in your Maternity hospital and speak with a midwife asap., or just go straight down. Dont worry about feeling foolish if its nothhing(which hopefully it will be). I had some pains at about 20 weeks and it turned out to be nothing very painful though but I would urge you to get it checked out as if nothing it will put your mind at rest. Let me know how you get on

Oh god Alex, get checked, might be nothing, but best to be on the safe side. Could be your ligaments all stretching to accomadate baby. Try to not worry, but get checked.

hi sorry its taken so long to reply, travelling all day, came back and read your replies. so decided to ring the midwife.
she said i was experiancing braxton hicks contractions, to my surprise as i thought you got them much later on, she said it was normal but to ring back if i had any watery discharge or blood down below.
glad i now know what it is, but not looking forward to 4 more months of them ! lol.
I recall getting them but not that early on! I had them about 4 weeks before my babies were born. I hope that yours settle down or you'll be knackered by time you actually go into labour.
Take Care.

Glad it was nothing serious! I know what you mean though, i've been having braxon hicks on and off for a while now which surprised me as I thought it was way to early too. I only knew what it was because I had them last time, so it must have been scary not knowing! Glad bubs is ok!
