Hey Ladies,

Never had one of these with my daughter 3 years ago, but am now 11 weeks, and whilst lying in the bath this morning it suddenly dawned on me I've started to get a linea niagra (dark line from pubis to belly button)!

As I didn't get one before I'm a little intreagued so please advise;

At what stage did you get yours?

Did you get them in every pregnancy or just some?

Are they more common with one gender of baby or another?

Really fascinated now as this is new to me and after last time I just presumed I was one of those women who wouldn't get one!

Found this on the net, I have no idea if it's true or not, just thought you might find it interesting.

There is an old wives' tale associated with linea nigra: if the linea nigra runs to the navel, it's a girl, and if it goes all the way up to the xiphoid, it's a boy.

I didnt have any with the boys but had it to my navel with dd..Its still there a bit even now!
Cant remember when it started though

I had one! It went from the bottom of my belly right up to the top - think it started towards the end of my 2nd trimester (might be wrong though, cant really remember that far back!). It took months to fade!
