I'm currently on CD62 and have just started taking AC in the hopes of my first AF post-pill arriving. Does anyone know how long I will have to wait to see results, and if AC doesn't work what should I do next? This is so depressing! [!]

Hi LucyB, sorry to hear you are having a nightmare as well. Will this be your first AF since BCP. So far (touch wood), i haven't had any side effects other than a few cramps, bloatedness but i used to have those on the BCP.

ladies - its hard to say when your AF will arrive but basically AC balances out your hormones so it may kickstart your ovaries into working - when that happens you will get AF after approx 2 weeks so I guess your AF is going to be here anytime from 2 weeks time if it works (and thats being optimistic that it will start working for you straight away)

Lummy, I stopped the ill in Nov, had a pill period, then a bit in december.. thats it !!! I have been investigated for PCO but my problem is I produce too much of a hormone called prolactin, which stops af.. Agnes Castus controls prolactin release which HOPEFULLY means af will come soon.. I have a presciption for a drug to take but wanted to try a natural remedy first !

Hi Becky I started AC this month, I had a pill bleed in Jan and then spotting in Feb and March and not really anything since. I got so fed up that I thought I would give it a whirl. It's not quick acting though - 3 months is the norm so keep your chin up - it will happen!
Lucyb - good to hear from you hun - hope you are doing ok.

Thanks all for the information, i don't know what i would do without these threads []. I hope AF arrives soon as DH is getting quite impatient for things to get a move on and whilst i'm trying to stay chilled out about it you do start to worry?!

I'm considering also to use AC. I am currently on CD60 - had pill bleed week after coming off pill in Feb, had af then 30 days later and since nothing. I heard it was damaging to the baby if taken when pg - so going to test first, sometime this week, and then start using AC afterwards.

A word of caution regarding AC. I started using it over three months ago to lengthen my LP of 10 days and promptly stopped ovulating. I've just found out that this is quite a common side effect of AC. I wish I'd have known earlier as I'd have stopped it after my first annovulatory cycle instead of wasting three cycles.
I've just ordered some gelatinised maca as it is supposed to promote fertility through balancing hormones with no side effects. Here's the info that led me to choose Maca:
Have any of you tried reflex therapy simi;lar to relexology but carried out by physios. See description below - this has been very successful in regulating cycles.
"" Reflex therapy is an umbrella term describing the variations of treatment approaches developed in Egypt, India and China whereby the body is topographically represented in the body's extremities. From a practical point of view, reflex therapy is a gentle, holistic, hands-on localised pressure applied to the feet, hands or head of a patient by a therapist in a systematic fashion relating to the needs of the individual.
Chartered physiotherapists have in-depth training in the skills of massage and manipulation and are therefore particularly suited to the skills and subtle approach of reflex therapy. The findings amongst chartered physiotherapists using the reflex therapy approach are that it appears to have an overall holistic benefit for the healing of the patient. The patient themselves report that they are highly satisfied with the effects of treatment. ""

Poor you! The BCP causes such problems and noone ever warns you. I think it might definitely be worth investigating. I have a friend who is a practitioner so I will check again with her but she has spoken about successes in this area before. I'll try and find out some more but in the meantime fingers crossed that AF will arrive soon.
