I was on the pill for 4 years came off for 18 months and didnt have a period in this whole time, then went on another pill for 3 years and came off to have mirena coil put in which I only had for 3 months as it didn't agree with me had this taken out 3 months ago and not had any periods other than being the time I was on the pill so not that we are trying for a baby im unsure as to when I can to a test or even if I can get pregnant cos no idea when im due my periods. Any ideas on how soon you can do a test??
i think the general opinion by manufacturers of pregnancy tests is to test at 18 days after you last had unprotected sex. Are you having any symptoms of pg? if you were, i would say test anyway but be wary of the result as it could be wrong. saying that though, i think its pretty rare from what i've read and personal experience to get a false positive but false negatives are fairly common due to testing too early etc.

Thank you Lisa Jane, I have been experiencing nausea and been sick for the last 5 days, my breasts have got bigger and tender and my skin has broken out with spots etc.. so having the odd symptom but we only stopped using condoms about 3 weeks ago so im thinking its a bit soon for all that but im new to all this!

your symptoms sound pretty good, and it doesn't matter that you only stopped using condoms 3 wks ago, if you were ovulating then a pregnancy test would show positive around 2 weeks later which would be around now!
i'd test if i were you, but anyone who knows me knows that i'm addicted to peeing on sticks lol

We have decided to leave it another week or so and try a test after the weekend. Going to see my family this weekend so I think best to do a test after that cos im so excited that if I find out now I wont be able to not tell anyone!!
I know the symptoms are positive but while I was using the coil I had a "phantom pregnancy" so had all those symptoms before so im trying not to get my hopes up too much!
How are things with you? Only just started using this website, its great how much everyone supports each other!
i don't blame you in the slightest for waiting - if i was sensible each month i would wait too instead of spending a bloomin fortune on preg tests lol! I'm currently trying to conceive #3 and have been for over 2 years now and apart from a miscarriage (triplets) in november - nothings happening! i'm getting a bit fed up really but i'm not sure if its my age thats making it more difficult.
I'm over from the TTC thread and the girls on there are fab! you're right, everyone really is there for each other. So maybe if you're not preg this month, if you're trying you could come and join us over there!
