Hi Are there any other single pregnant women out there? I'm ten weeks pregnant and although I really happy about it I cant help feeling a little scared about no support from the father. My first appointment with the Midwife is towards the end of next week, do all Nhs trusts do a scan at the first appointment?

congrats on your pregnancy, glad your happy about it despite your situation,i know how you feeli was in the same situation with my first daughter. you dont normally get a scan with your first appoinment, its more of a booking appointment, the midwife checks your blood pressure, takes a few blood tests, checks your wee sample and does loadsa paperwork!! she will also feel your tummy and possiby check the babys heartbeat which is amazing the first time you hear it.
you normally get offered a scan when you are 20 weeks, and unless there are any complications in your pregnancy that may be the only one you have.
i live in southampton and have had the chance to take part in a survey on pregnancy and i had a scan at 12 weeks,i get another one at 20 weeks and a final one at 35 weeks so thats quite good but with my previous pregnancies i only had the one at 20 weeks.so it depends on where you live as different areas may have different policies.
take care, rachael xx
