well where do I start ? well im ten weeks pregnant and I'm very disappointed with the midwife.
I went for my first check up with the midwife and found out that my midwife wasnt there and I had a consultant midwife there instead, so I made the most of it and asked laods of questions , but she didnt seem to know much, so I asked her how long she had been doing it and she replyed not long.I left the room feeling really let down, so I thought well I wait for my appointment at the hospital to come through and see what happens.to make things worse it my first so I dont know what to expect, and I have ms so have the worry isnt helping!!
then they sent me a appointment for a hospital that is miles away so i went to see the midwife a agin and she saidthey only send people to the nearer hospital when asked, which I didnt know!
so Im still wiating and im ten weeks and to make things worst she never did any tests, blood pressure or anything so I feel let down. anyone else have this??

Sorry to hear that you are not having a very postivie experience with your first pregnancy, it should be a time of great excitement. I am trying for baby no 1 so I am afraid that I do not know much of how it should all be working, but I do work for the NHS and know that you can access a service called PALs who are brilliant at helping with things that you are not happy about. You could try calling them and see how they could help with your comments about the midwife.

COngratulations about the baby anyway and I hope everything goes well for you from now on.

you could try and complain and ask to be seen by another midwife. try asking other mums if they have got the same problem with the same person. but if your not happy do complain and try to get another midwife. having a child is supposed to be a great time, and you are supposed to leave your appts feeling reassured and confident about your pregnancy. i had really great midwives for my birth, but when i was on the ward after my c-section my catheter fell out and the midwife at the time made me wait for an hour so as you can imagine i couldnt control my bladder for an hour and when she finally did come to sort it out she was really horrible and made out that i should have known how to do it myself i think her exact words were "when something falls out i think the obvious thing to do is put it back again" she made me feel as if i had to apologise, i complained about her and that made me feel better straight away. let me know how everything goes

Hi

I am only trying for baby number one at the moment so I haven't got any experiences that I can share but I have to say that if that were me I think I would complain. I think getting a recpetion like that would frighten me, midwifes are surely supposed to be there to help not leave you feeling disappointed!

i've had a couple of bad incidents but not that bad one midwife i saw asked why i'd come to this hospital and not the other as i'm in the middle of two hospitals each about 7 miles from my home and she started complaining saying she was sick of the community midwife sending everyone to her hospital then went and seen the OB and he said any pain any bleeds any infections i said no to all and he said well why u here to see me then in an awful tone i'm booked in for my 5 month scan on the 17th may then i'm gonna ask if i can transfer to the other hospital cos i just don't like that hospital and don't see why we should be treated or talked to like we are by these doctors and midwives if we did it we would be classed as being abusive
