Is this safe?

I've read some stuff on the Internet and some sites say yes and some say to avoid it. I would be between 8 and 9 weeks when I plan on travelling. It would only be a 1.5 hour flight (London to Scotland) so it's not longhaul or anything.

I don't have a midwife yet so I can't phone and ask them (am booked in to see my GP next week who will then refer me on to the midwife). I did phone NHS Direct and the nurse said yes it was fine but just wanted to see what you guys think?

I flew to NZ when I was 12 wks preg and home again when I was 15 wks and was fine, as was Daisy as far as one can tell!!
I think most Drs etc will say its fine. The only negative thing I heard was from an airline pilot friend of dad's which is a little worrying (something to do with radiation levels on aircraft).
Go with how you feel comfortable. My SIL flew to NY when she was 9 wks and my neice is fine too[]

Stacey, I went to Lanzarote in March when I was 20 weeks pregnant. I took my notes with me as the airline asked to see them on the way back to make sure I wasn't further gone than I said. You can fly safely until 30 weeks on most flights. Just check with your doctor about your own circumstances but it should be fine at your stage and for such a short flight.

i jus flew to lanzarote and back between weeks 6 and 7! actually forgot about all pregnancy niggles as was so excited to be going away!!

also wen expecting DS flew to egypt and back at 8-9 weeks... everytime i book a holiday i conceive! hehe!!

neways shud be fine..but hope u enjoy ur flight..i know both my holidays wer ruined by sickness at general cr@p feeling whilst abroad! o well glad to be wer i am so shudnt complain!!! xxx
