I am new to saliva testing and wanted to say that today is the first time I have seen half ferns and half crystals in my test. Is ovulation a couple of days after this pattern ie will I see all ferning in few days and is that when ovulation is? Can anyone help. I am not finding the websites too helpful. Would be helpful to get insight from someone who does this regularly?! Also, have you found this test result to coincide with other OPK like clearblue stick etc?

I use the saliva test and generally notice ferning beginning to start 2 to 3 days before ovulation and maybe for a day or so after. You will be fully fertile when full ferns appear and this is the peak time for your fertility. When you see some ferns only you are entering your fertile period and should still BD. You need to bd from when you start to see the ferning until they disappear to increase your chances. You can't pinpoint ovulation from the maybebaby but it wouldnt hurt to do an ovulation test just to ensure it correlates. I don't bother because along with the ferning I usually notice more fertile CM as well so I know that I will ovulate around that time and also when I used to chart and temp, I usually ovualated around day 14. I have noticed though that I see the ferns again as af approaches but this is apparently due to another oestogen surge which occurs again as the monthly cycle comes to an end and not to be confusd with ovulation.
