hey joeyjo - I am going to go for the bupa check at around 12 weeks they fully investigate everything to make sure your baby is healthy otherwise I am not sure when you first get one on NHS think its 20 weeks - I know I had a dating scan at 8 weeks cos I was not sure how far gone I was - you could always play on that I suppose and make out you don't remember when your last period was!

no nic, dont worry, i have read that it mainly occurs between 8 and 14 weeks, some women dont have it at all, and others have it throughout their whole pregnancy. So please dont worry. I know you are a worrier, as you have said before. But just take some deep breaths and stop fretting. It can be worrying when others around you are having symptoms and you are not, but we are all different and our bodies will react differently.

take care Nic, and just keep yourself calm, dont over stress yourself.

love

Joxx

if you have been pregnant before you tend to notice all your symptoms a lot earlier on aswell - I didn't get sickness with DD until 6 weeks or more - got worse at about 8 weeks.

Hi girls!

Can I just say CONGRATULATIONS to pesto and DH![Big Grin][Big Grin][Big Grin] And good to finally hear from you! Is your DH around with you? I remember he was supposed to go away for 6 months or something[?]

Nichola, not everyone has morning sickness. May be you're one of the lucky ones who won't get any. It's not pleasant, I tell you. One of my friends didn't have m/s at all and had a gorgeous and healthy baby boy.

joeyjo, did you ask your GP or midwife if you'll be getting a dating scan (normally around 12 weeks)[?] I think it depends on where you live. Some areas only give scans when you're 20 weeks which I think is unfair since others get scans both at 12 and 20 weeks. If your area doesn't do the 12-week scan, it's worth going private to get one. It really gives you a peace of mind.

By the way EmmaLeigh and pesto, do you know how the rest of the girls are doing? Fenn, Kaz, Dr. Lil, Cagsio, Carolyn, Karen and everyone?

Speak again soon!

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to all who are pregnant.

I am 7 weeks today and due early Jan. I live in fear of going to the toilet and finding blood. I had a scare on Thursday and the midwife took a sample and said she couldn't find anything in which was a good sign, but I have cramps and backache which feel like period and lots of cvm.

Should I be worried?

Hi again,

Sorry, do not really know much about heartburn thing. Have not had it. Had nasty Constipation at beginning when taking the Pregnacare which is odd because I suffer with IBS and have never suffered with constipation. I came off those tablets back onto straight folic acid. Also get nasty leg cramps when been sitting or lying down for a while so sometimes hubby has to help me up. A few days after what I know to be conception I had this achy feeling and I thought was from sitting down in my uncomfortable office chair too long but I now think maybe was to do with the pregnancy. I then got an ache about 19 weeks (?) and got checked out at early pregnancy clinic and scanned and baby was fine. I complained other day to midwife about tummy ache etc and she said could be body stretching. That makes sense.

I m/c 4 years ago between 6-8 weeks and so have been very anxious this whole time, petrified of finding blood etc. The doppler really is amazing. Not that I use a lot, just when I am really worried. Girl bump even had hiccups on it the other day.

I was also petrified about the blood tests and she managed finally at 24 weeks to get blood from me. Tests came up fine so not anaemic etc but I am rhesus neg so will need anti-d injections. She made hosp double check screen cos im probably her most needle phoebic person.

Anyhow, take care all of you,

Debs x
