For those of you who don't know me (which is probably not many as I feel like a bit of a grandmother in here I have been here so long!!) I have been TTC for Two years next month. I was referred to a specialist about 18 months ago as I had had previous pregnancy problems and hormone problems. I was initially told to wind my neck in I was 34 and they were convinced that if I chilled I would get pregnant. In January I was referred on to a higher level clinic as they wanted to start me on Clomid and because of my previous problems I needed to be monitored. Here I saw a lovely man who said let's see if you have any underlying problems, what's the point of getting you pregnant only for you to miscarry again. Had loads of blood tests and they made another appointment for me at the end of June. I received a letter two days ago telling me that an appointment had been made for me on 15th May which I was well chuffed with as it was six weeks earlier than my original appointment and then today I received another letter stating the following:
"Some of your blood results have now returned and to my surprise they have shown that in yourself there is a minor chromosomal abnormality. This obviously isn't affecting you, but can be the cause of the recurrent miscarriages. I would suggest that I see you and your husband for review to discuss this further. An appointment will be sent to you shortly".
Well what can I say? I feel struck to the core as I have no idea what will happen now.
Anyone have any ideas? Don't recall this question being posted on any of the strings as yet??????!!!!!!
Can anyone help???

touchy- don't you just hate letters like that?? they said i had hormonal abnormalities that could cause me NOT to get pg, i still don't really know what it is, but i was on steroids early on in pregnancy and things were fine...i would try to call your Dr's office (if you haven't already) and state your concern and what it is regarding...in the states, Doc are good at getting back to you and at least having conversations about what is up...i know that's not much, but i wish you luck and hopefully the 15th will be here quickly and you will be on your merry way to pregancy...
good luck dear...you have been here a long time, and i hope you jump to the due in Jan thread soon....

I have no idea what the chromosomal abnormality is that they have found in your blood. I just wanted to return a messgae to you as i know (through recently having one of these letters myself) just how anxious they can make you feel when they dont go in to any more details and then give you an appointment for weeks away. (how incencitive these Dr's can be)
The only positive thing is, that if they have now found something, then maybe they can do something to put it right and spare you any more grief.
Good luck on the 15th May. I hope it goes well

Thank you both for replying I am guessing at the amount of people who have read this string and very few relpying that it is not a common thing that people have come across!
I am really busy at the moment so hopefully the couple of weeks that I have to wait will pass really quickly!
