I have just found out the I am 5 weeks pregnant and I am off to the doctors tonight.

I am just wondering if this is normal. I am having a few griping pains down below but I also have a bit of thrush. Does anyone know if this is ok ???

Hi claire I am on baby number 3 due in 9 weeks time.

Yes its normal to get these pains, even at this early stage of your pregnancy the muscles and ligaments are stretching and your body is going through lots of changes. Also I had thrush at 7 weeks and was treated no problem. I am sure your doctor will put your mind at rest.

Have a great pregnancy.

Love Lorraine. xx

Hi Claire and congratulations. The pains are normal its just your uterous(sp?)expanding, they can feel like period pains. Also, thrush is quite common when pregnant. Your Dr should be able to put your mind at rest and give you something for the thrush. Good luck for the 8 months or so[Big Grin].

Hi Claire09

Congratulations!!!

Don't panic too much......I had gripey/stitchy type pain last week on one side which really worried me and also had mild period type pains but it has stopped since but occasionally comes and goes.
It's just everything stretching and growing.
Unless you are doubled over in pain I wouldn't worry.

Thrush is very common in pregnancy.....my sister had it with both of hers and quite early on too.

Hi Clair,

Congratulations!!! I had period pains for about 2 weeks after I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks when my period didn't turn up and worried just like you. I think this is extremely common as loads of women on here have experienced this too. Like everyone else says, it's your body adjusting to acommodate the baby and is completely normal. I'm sure it will disappear soon.

Good luck with it all.
Luv kerry
