Hi there I read your message on 'predicting ovulation' put out there by wend. I posted my reply and if you go to it I hope the information there will help. The mucus that you have is completely normal I have been off the pill now 7 years and trust me I get this discharge every month, it is there to help preserve sperm after sex when you are in you around ovulation time. I am now a mother of 1 15month old girl and have been through this with pediatrician and mid-wives. do not worry read my two messages on the other forum to yourself and Wend and you will see what I mean. I am now 33 and trying for my second baby.

Hi Tinyem i am getting the exact same symtoms as you. i came off the pill in april and since took about 4 pregnancy tests. its only now that i am getting pregnancy symtoms, but don't want to dissapoint myself by taking another test and it being negative! i have aching breasts, i feel sick every morning when i wake up, sometimes this continues throughout the day although i have never been sick. i am tired all the time, i like my sleep but not this much. i am also getting pains at the bottom of my stomach (these are not period pains - atleast they don't feel like them). i haven't had a period yet. i just don't know what to do at the minute!! have you took a test yet? let me know, thanx

Hi Tinyem thanx for your reply. i have had a really hectic day today and never had chance to leave work to buy a test, but i am going to do so in thr morning and however the result turns out either way i am going to make an appointment at the doctors to find out exactly whats going on inside my body! my stomach is really aching at the minute, but it doesn't feel like cramp and i haven't been eating too much or anything like that! so i am kind of hoping it is a baby rather than something else! i will let you know how things turn out tomorrow night! speak to you then Lea (beanie04)

I would love to hear from anyone who had terrible side affects of coming off the pill. I have felt awful for the last few weeks and find the symptoms are similar to pregnancy symptoms. I am not alone please tell me.

Hi Emilyjane Yes my hubby and I are trying for a baby. I got my first clear period after the fake one I had when I finished the pill 5 weeks ago. My proper period has only lasted three days which I am quite shocked at as it used to last about 5-6 days. I am going to try and not think about it that much as I think sometimes we can get very obsessed as 'wanna be mothers'. I have heard so many stories about people getting wrapped up in predicting ovulation kits and cervical mucus then when they chill out and forget about it the inevitable result eventually happens! Good luck with your little one. It goes without saying that there is a 2% chance of becoming pregnant on the pill - you're living proof! Are you happy with your result!

Emilyjane I was shaking when I found out and it takes a while for the shock to lift and the reality to sink in, usually when you feel quickenings (like butterflies in your tummy), that is the baby moving about but mostly when you get your first scan and a picture of you son or daughter they are amazing. I really hope you are are happy about this because they change your life no doubt but oh my god they are worth it, I could not be without my little girl now she is amazing. As for your husband it takes a little longer for reality to set in, usually when the baby is born, it does not seem real to them untill they hold the little bundle. My other half went into shock he said 'it is a real baby!' NO **** SHERLOCK' He was blown away by it, she is almost 16 months old and you can see in his face and eyes how much he loves her, his heart is on his sleeve. Best of luck, your going to love being a Mum.
