Good Morning Ladies Smiler

So how are we all today then? All well I hope?

Kat - Hope you're doing ok hon and that everything was ok at the court case, thinking of you x

Vicky - **HAPPY 10 WEEKS HON** - How did you get on at the docs? Did he/she give you something for your hayfever? I usually take antihistamine every day throughout the summer but obviously as soon as I found out I was pregnant I stopped straight away but I haven't been too bad thank goodness.

Little - **HAPPY 7 WEEKS HON** - How you feeling?

I went to see the nurse at my doctors surgery the other day, just for a general health check as I've just changed doctors and she took my blood pressure and tested my urine which were both fine. She said everything's obviously going to plan because my blood pressure was a little on the low side which is the norm when you're in the first trimester and it proves the blood is passing through to the embryo properly and this is why we all feel so tired and dizzy the first couple of months....which was nice to know. she also had me fill in a form which entitles me to free prescriptions and dental work which I had no idea about either....rubbish aren't I ?!! Big Grin She said the midwife will be in touch soon and that they might give me the option to have a CVS Chorionic Villus Sampling) test which I've googled and it looks pretty scary but quite a good thing at my ripe old age. Anyone had one or know anyone that's had one?

Hope you're all having a good day so far

xx

Hiya ladies quick personals from me. Had an absolutely horrendous day yesterday, went and reversed my car into a metal handrail at the docs! Absolutely gutted only had it since Jan! Never once bumped or stratched a car until now (well actually that’s a lie I did knock my wing mirror off my first car!). Anyway, its booked in for 30th June for repairs. Can’t do it any sooner cos won’t have it back for our hols and the courtesy car is a Ford Ka and no way will we fit all our stuff in there. Im actually wondering if it will a squeeze in our car which is a Meriva! Anyway, was gutted yesterday its sorted now or will be soon so feeling better today.
Felt so sick last night aswell, not sure why feel fine today.

Karen, so glad you’ve managed to get booked in and have your scan that’s wonderful news. Im jealous!! In a nice way of course!

Silky, all she gave me was eyedrops, well not even eyedrops they are like a gel which she says is safe. That’s all I can have and am suffering big time at the mo, damn hayfever! Never mind a few weeks and it should be over.
Glad your health check went well. I get my free prescription form from the mw, so not yet then. Actually though when I got my prescription yesterday I asked for a receipt to claim it back and she said just tick the box anyway, so I did! Don’t really want to have to pay when I don’t have to!
Never heard of that test, are you going to have it done?

Right best get on, hope everyones ok x x x

Hi Vicky,

What a pain pranging your car hon but try to look on the bright side...it's still road worthy and you and bump are just fine....anyway it'll add 'character' to your car for a few weeks Big Grin

Not sure whether to have the test or not but as I said I've read up about it and they insert a needle either through your tummy or through your cervix into the the finger like 'things' that attach the placenta to the uterus. They suck up a little of this and it has the exact genetic structure of the baby so at 11 weeks they can tell EVERYTHING about the little beanie. Don't think it's as risky as an amnio because it doesn't actually break through the placenta or amniotic sac at all. I guess I need to sit down and talk to the midwife about it thoroughly before I make any decisions. I noticed there's a midwife called Jules who posts on here and has been a great help to alot of ladies so I might pop over to her thread and just see what her thoughts are on the whole process.

Hope the sickness doesn't come back again today hon, I've noticed if I get especially stressed it hits me like a sledgehammer so I'm trying to stay all calm and pink & fluffy and it seems to help Smiler

Take care

xx

Hi Kat,

Ooooh, he had to cut you with a scalpel....I take it they give you a local anaesthetic before they start digging about?! Eeker

Will you be having one with this beanie do you think hon?

Hi girls, just barging in to leave a message for Vicky... hope you don't mind and hi to you all!

Vicky, the sodium cromoglicate spray and eye drops I got are, apparently, safe in pregnancy - so my GP said anyway - she looked it up in that book they've all got. I also Googled them and they're deemed to be safe, not because anyone's done any tests, but by dint of the fact that they've been used by loads of people for years without any hint of a problem. In other words, not a ringing assurance but also not like antihistamines or steriod sprays, which say 'avoid in pregnancy'. I know people who will say not to use anything in pregnancy, but this seems to be as safe as it gets, and my hayfever's so bad that I can't see what else I can do. It's everyone's choice in the end!

Oh, and on the basis of one day using them, seems to be doing the trick!

HTH!

Hi Girlies,

Hope you're all feeling ok today and have that Friday feeling? Cool

Hi Vicky - I don't mind doing the charts while you're away. Also I don't mind helping out doing them anyway instead of you having to do them all the time. How about, whichever of us logs on first in the morning does the chart? What do you reckon? If you'd rather just do it yourself though just you say, I won't mind hon Big Grin

ALL my symptoms disappeared last night....even my Weapons Of Mass Destruction seemed to feel a lot easier so I got a bit worried but I've felt a bit sicky today and have been backwards and forwards to the loo a million times already so hopefully it's all ok. Think I read somewhere that your body can start to get used to the hormones surging through it...well I hope that's all it is anyway Smiler

Have a wonderful day ladies

xx

Vicky, there is defo an antihistamine that is safe during pregnancy I went to dr on monday with same problem, she said she'd try me with a nasal spray first coz my symptoms are mainly my nose at mo and if that wasn't sufficient she'd try me on the antihistamines, she said any dr that is knocking on a bit haha will know this particular tablet is safe, but can't remember what it is sorry!!!!!!!!xxx

Hiya ladies, just a quickie from me. Went to see my friends baby hes gorgeous! Had a long cuddle with him and Ellie was lovely aswell.

Silky, thats fine with the charts, I really don't mind honestly. Princess used to do them through week and I did them weekends but she hasn't logged on for ages so I just took on the responsibilty! Yeah whoever logs on first can do them. Only days I really log on early is Mon, Tues, Weds when im at work haha!!
Glad your symptoms have subsided, makes you feel so much better doesn't it!

Maz, thanks for the info. Will defo go armed with my info to the docs. Mine is really nose based! I get really stuffed up as well which I absolutely hate. Makes me get crappy sleep!

Right best get going, have a lovely weekend all x x x
