Hiya - yes, 26weeks to qualify for maternity pay - but i work for the local authority - and although after 26weeks(inlcuding pregnancy time) i would qualify, to get extra benefits, ie, longer full pay and extended half pay, i needed to work for them for 1 year - as i have worked here for quite a few years, luckily, i qualify for the extras - i would think that the nhs is the same, after 26 weeks they will give you a standard basic, but after a year or so, a better rate, amybe full pay for longer or something. hope this makes sense as its a little rushed, Kirsten xxx
