Ok, i thought I would post the birth story whilst i remembered it all!
BIRTHSTORY
It started 19th June. I did LOADS of housework, sweeping, mopping, etc. I ate lots of pineapple, drank raspberry tea etc and went for a long walk. I started contracting every 20 minutes in the evening but went to bed and slept ok. I woke up in the morning of the 20th feeling nothing and very disappointed. After an hour or so they started again...20 mins apart. They went down to 15 after an hour or so and finally 10 minutes after a couple of hours. I ignored them to be honest as i thought they were just BHs. DH kept saying...you are not in labour lol! By about 1pm i started getting suspect. They were feeling different and hurting. I spoke to the midwife who came out and said I was 3cm and fully effaced and the baby was really low. She gave me another sweep and told me she did not think i would be pregnant by tomorrow (21st).
I started timing them properly then. They came down to 6 mins and i called the midwife again. She came out and at that point I was then around 4-5 mins apart and a huge 5cm! This was it. I was sent to the hospital. They were so busy though they asked her to do a homebirth.....I was like NO WAY! I am not ready for that! They had few beds and di not want to take me! Anyway, the midwife said it was tough they would just have to find me a bed...
On the way there we got pulled over by the police for speeding :

How embarrassing lol. Darren explained I was in labour and we got our own police escort to the hospital! Lights and sirens etc. Over shooting lights, cutting down the middle of traffic and going through speed cameras. It was great.
We got to the hospital and I was contracting every 2-3 minutes and by this point it was hurting A LOT. I was checked expecting to be 7cm+ and I was 2cm!!!!!!!!! 2!!!!!! How on earth could that have happened! What the hell happened to 5 cm!?!? I was so upset! They offered to send me home! 30 miles away. I knew things were real so i decided to stay anyway but cried for an hour. Contractions were intense and coming very fast but I was not even in labour apparently!
Anyway, at 8pm on the 20th I was sent down to the ante natal ward. I was checked at 1:30am and was now 4-5cm and finally in labour. I was sent back up to L&D. Things were heating up. I was due to be checked at 6am when they hoped I would be almost ready to push (at this point I had been in labour with regular contractions at 2-3 mins apart for 13 hours!). When I was checked I was a mere 5-6cm. I was gutted (and cried some more). She decided to break my waters to speed things along. Things really started to heat up now and I was worried I would need pain relief. Only had gas and air at this point. After 3 contractions I felt the urge to push...it was uncontrollable. I tried to tell her that and she had a go at me for trying to push when my cervix was not ready. It was so hard. After about 4 of these contractions and my body was trying to push her out the midwife checked me and I was fully dilated! I had gone from 5cm - 10cm in a matter of 3 contractions! So once she finally noticed I was able to push I was pushing for 15 minutes or so!
That's when things got a little panicky.....the pushing stage did not go to plan. I was pushing pushing pushing and managed to give birth to her head fine but then things came to a halt...things were not happening any further. The heart rate dropped really low and the midwife started to get a little worried worried (I will never forget the look on her face). She rang for help and another midwife and pediatrician came in. It seems her shoulder had got stuck in my pelvis and she was stuck halfway out!. Things got a little worrying at that stage. It seemed to last forever. I was pushing some more but she would not come out. Finally with 2 midwives manauvering me and her she was finally free! I was so frightened by the looks on the faces of the midwives.....there was no cry. I was asking what was wrong and why there was no cry or movement and they never really answered me. She had come out completely stiff and the most scary thing was her colour. She was purple/blue and not breathing. For 30 seconds i honestly thought we had lost her. DHs knees went to jelly and he almost fainted and I was in tears asking what was wrong and if she was ok. Finally they revived her and the crying started. I have never been SOOOOO relieved.
Anyway after all that......
