Lea and Ellie - huge congrats to you both! Sorry you both have had a bit of a traumatic time of it - nioce to another pink one Lea - loads of team blue at the moment!
Jenpen - I am sure you are right about the sicky thing - it just occured to me that all the babies I've come across have fallen into that pattern - but I know its not the norm. Was interested to hear about Hipp organic being better on Josh's tummy - I'm inclined to follow your experience ot be honest as I remember DS1 thrived on it when he moved over to formula at about 3-4 months old.
Nic - Yeah to little Alanna just getting back on the boob! Must have been the bottles we're using - they are rather "booblike" aren't they!
I have to say today has gone alot better - I went shopping for the first time ever with my mum and youngest sister - how crap is that that at my age I've never had a girly day shopping with both my mum and youngest sister! Anyway left DP with 6oz of breast milk at 12.30pm and Wyatt just fed the once until I got back at 5pm. He managed to get a really good feed because obviously I had stocked up a bit and that really helped today. Mum is insistant I am putting him to the boob too often - she isn't a believer in demand feeding. Difficult to know who to listen to isn't it - I mean my mum has had ALOT of kids and so she knows a thing or two - but there is conflicting advice from HVs and MWs evenm in the same Primary Trust so god knwos what is right! Me and DP have decided that we will hang in there with the breastfeeding but actually be a bit stricter with it. If I express a few times a day I can get a good idea of what I am producing and that will allow us to try and aim for 3 hours between feeds. Wyatt is only 4 weeks old bless him but apparently 4-6 weeks is the best time to establish a routine so we're going to give it a go. If we decide to mix feed we might do the last feed of the evening say 9pm with formula and perhaps a feed at 7am with formula to get him comfortably through the morning school run. If I express just before those times then I will always have a stock of breastmilk in the fridge for those extra hungry moments when he's drained my boob but is still looking for more to eat. I'll keep you posted how that works out.
Oh and today mum bought me a fabulous outfit for my wedding day, as well as little ones for both my boys -it was lovely. I'm so excited now!!!!
