Just thought it would be a good idea to start a thread about how people carry in relation to what they are having. I've been told by loads of people that I'm having a boy/girl by the way I'm carrying. They can't all be right!!

I wondered what people think to old wives tales and if they think there is, or have had any proof in them?

I'm eating lots of sweet things, so I must be having a boy! I've always had a sweet tooth though! The growth of hair on my legs has slowed down, so I'm having a girl!!

Do you have a gut feeling about what you're having??

Rachel 24+2 and I have no idea......

Hi Rachael,

I'm only 11 weeks, but people are already saying i'm having a girl or twins as i've been so sick.
I have two boys and with both of them i had no sickness, i ate choclate constantly!! craved lemonade and pickled onions!!!
With this pregnancy, i can't stand the smell or taste of anything pickled and don't really fancy chocs or sweets???

Who knows??
Am having my first scan on monday and then hope to find out the sex at the 20 week scan.

take care, bubbly x

Hi Rachel - I am carrying really low and everyone said I was having a boy!

I having huge cravings for sweet things but used to eat some sweet things occassionally but certainly not chocolate.

I went for scan 2 weeks ago and they confirmed that I am having a little girl.[Big Grin]

Over 10 people told me that having sweet cravings means you're having a girl and they have all had girls and a few people said they had real savoury cravings when tey were having a boy.

I definately don;t think they way you carry defines the fact it is a boy or girl as all babies are comfy in different positions.

I hope this helps a little hun.

Love Jen x [:X]

Hi I am on my third baby. I had a boy first and put weight on all round, I thought it was a boy even though people said you put on all round with a girl. But I was right. Then with my second I thought it was a girl, I was all up front. And yep I was right. This time I am again all upfront and thought its another girl. But the scan said Boy. So who knows. LOL

Hi,
With my 1st pregnancy I had no morning sickness at all and I craved savoury things like crazy. My bump was really high and all up front... and I had a girl.
I'm only just over 7 wks preg now and things are much the same so far... must eat cheese!!... and no morning sickness at all (yet!). Will be interesting to see how my bump develops. Will definately find the sex out at 20 wks.. can't be doing with all the guessing!

Hi to all you pregnant ones.
My pregnancy days are over now as i now have 2 kids, Brad whos 4 and Eli who is now 9 months.
I carried exactly the same for both of them, same shape, same amount of weight gain and exactly the same cravings, pickles and fish.
I was told with Brad that he was a boy all along and with Eli they also told me i was having a boy which i expected due to carrying the same, but when i was 34 weeks we treated ourselfs to a 3d scan and thats where i found out my little boy was really a girl.
Im very pleased to have one of each, but the moral of this story is 'Theres just no telling'
Good luck to you all, hope your all healthy and well.
Love Carly xxxxx

My word, it is absolutely fascinating to read about how different we all are with carrying a boy or girl.

Carly rose - I was told mine is going to be a girl and I really hope we were not given the wrong info.

Do you know why they get confused with the sex?

I'm all out front again, no weight on anywhere else, in fact even the opposite, gone down a clothes size everywhere except my bump. I'm having a little boy, and I carried my first little boy exactly the same way.

Hi,
Jen, dont get to worried they are normally pretty accurate these days. Its easy to mistake a boy as a girl more often then the other way as some times you cant always see the boy bit. I think some doctors find it very difficult, depends on babys position and what ever else. The new scans available are worth having if you can afford one, we had a 3d scan and got the whole thing on video tape of our little girl, it was amazing.
How many weeks are you now, the earlier the scan the harder it is to tell.
My friend was told she was having a girl, got all her stuff and then at 8 months told her it was a boy. And it was a boy.
But these stories are rare that late in pregnancy (i hope)
Take care.
Love Carly xxxx

Gemma - I wish I was all up front, I look horrible and thrumpy[Frowner]

My next door neighbour said I have fat chops too![Frowner]

Oh my god 5 weeks to go tomorrow for you!

Carly - I am 23 weeks tomorrow, I can't really afford to have a video done but I would love that!

The lady that did the scan 2 weeks ago looked really closely at babies bits quite a few times just to make sure and kept saying that's the cord, yes it is definately a girl, so I hope she is right although I would love to have a boy too!

I'll try not to get too many coloured clothes just in case!

Love Jen x

Ladies,

Thought I'd share my experience with you re: sex of the baby...

I had my daughter 15 years ago. ( I was v young and fairly naive)I had no sickness at all, but bearing in mind I did not realise I was pg until about 15 weeks! I craved peaches and apples (v healthy!!) I carried all up front a very neat bump, and everyone said I was having a boy. People even gave me lots of blue items for the baby.

The interesting bit is when I was in full blown labour, the midwife gave me an internal examination and she said "the shape of the head feels like a boy" so it was indeed with great surprise when I gave birth to a healthy girl about an hour later!

My baby girl wore a lot of blue until 6 months, and she looked fetching![Big Grin][Big Grin][Big Grin]

silky xx
