Well further to the last threads I left, I came on my period yesterday morning which was day 43. I think that stress may have been the reason I didn't ovulate as my mum was taken ill in hospital around the time I was due to ovulate originally.
I was really upset about it and feel so dissapointed. I was really adapting my life to the thought of expecting a baby and I'm dis-heartened.
I nearly fainted when my period arrived and felt really, really sick. My tummy is still bloated and I feel pretty awful.
Has anyone been in this kind of situation before? I came off the pill last June and so was wondering if this also may still be having an effect on my body?

Sorry to hear about AF and I completely understand your disappointment. I too have had another BFN, no period and feel very sick. I think AF is on her way and have accepted the fact I am not pg now, but last week when I realsied that I was absolutely gutted. The last few days have been a bit up and down. You could be right, the pill could still be messing our bodies up. Have you been ttc since June last year? If so, are you going to go the dr's soon for help?
Hope your mum is ok now and take care, S

Well we haven't really been trying for a baby - i.e. no baby dancing around time we should have been as I am starting a new job in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd get settled first before. But when AF never turned up this time I really adapted to the thought of having a baby. I've been off the pill now since last June and we've never really made a point of trying around my fertile time as I've never really known when that has been to be exact as my cycle varies from 30 - 31 days.
I was really upset on Saturday when AF arrived. I woke up in the morning and when I stood up I nearly fainted - I felt all the blood rush from my head and I felt really, really sick and light headed - it was awful. I haven't felt like that since I started my period when I was 13!
I do worry that I'll never catch on but when I read everyone's messages on the board, I know that I'm not on my own and that it does happen. I remember speaking with Lizzy (other board member) last year and she was in the same boat - now she is over 23 weeks!
It's a great website with all sorts of information on it and you can chart your body's status each day - basal body temp. cervical mucus etc - it will then develop a reading for ovulation etc. It's really, really good and if you haven't been on it already then I'd give it a go.

hi honey, i was in the same boat as you last september, not really trying, late but then upset as i had come around to the idea. We started trying properly the next month and i am now 31 weeks pregnant. We used a persona kit to find my fertile days and they really work, i didnt know abot the fertility websites at the time. Give it a go and remember you can only get pregnant for a few days per month and i bet you will be making an announcement in no time. Lots of love and fun trying for your beby. xx

Just wanted to ask you about using the persona monitor. I'm at the end of my first cycle using it. How long did it take to get pg using it? Do you know what the test sticks test for and what the two lines mean? What happens with the monitor when you actually get pg?
Hope you don't mind all the questions! Thanks and wishing you a happy and healthy last few weeks, you must be getting really excited?

hi sydney, we were actually using persona as a contraceptive for 4 months before trying for babe and i got pregnant straightaway when we used it to find fertile days. In a nutshell it predicts ovulation give or take a couple of days. When the machine has sussed out your cycle you open it every morning and you have red, green or amber days. On green it is safe to have unprotected sex if you do not want to get pregnant. Ususally just after your period you get amber days and thats when the wee sticks come in, they test your wee for a hormone surge leading up to and during ovulation and if the sticks detect them it will put you onto a red day and often will flash O depending or not whether you want to get pregnant or not have lots of sex, if not you are meant to abstain but we used condoms when we were not trying and i never fell. The lines on the stick just mean that the tests have worked like a pregnancy test. There is a website, persona.com and they have a helpline listed on there which is really good. When you get pregnant the persona has no way of dteecting you use pregnancy tests. The great thing about persona is that you get so in tune with your cycle that you know to the minuite when you are due on, i actually used one of those new first response tests which allows you to test 3 days before you are due on and it came up positive. I am now so excited and it will be your turn soon i promise. I really hope iv helped and please give me a shout if i can help any more. Lots of love. xx

Thanks for your help. It was really useful. I'm still waiting for AF at the moment at the end of my first cycle with persona, so hopefully from next month it will be more accurate in detecting my fertile days. I've also just signed up on fertility friend, so will have loads of help next month! Fingers crossed.
Hope all is well with you and bump. Have you found out the sex of the baby? When is you EDD?
Take care, S
