I have been reading lots and lots of your messages and I now think its time to ask one for myself, I am new on here so please excuse me, I had a Mirena coil fitted 3 half years ago, had no periods at all, in fact i had nothing with it, it was brillant, no pain or any side effects that I have been reading about. I had it removed 3 weeks ago today, the only bleeding I have had was on the 3rd day after removal but only slightly, (only noticed when I wipe) sorry but I thought details will help you answer my question better, so, it only lasted 1 or maybe 2 days no I have nothing since, do I take that as a period or aftermath of having it removed, if thats all I have had can I be pregnant or it is to soon to be thinking like this, only because I am wanting a baby so much, I was told that if i had sex 5 days before removal I could get pregnant straight away, well I did the day before and since of course. should I just sit and wait or do a test???? hope you can answer my question please.
There is a thread somewhere about the coil, mighth be the answer on there? I dont know as I never had one myself, but wish you all the luc in trying for a baby. xx

Hello there, I had a mirena coil removed in Feb after 4yrs, the nurse had said to me about the fact I could fall pregnant straight away. I had a bleed like you a couple of days later that lasted a couple of days then didn't get AF for about a month. I fell pregnant 5weeks ago. Wouldn't harm to test. On the mirena thread I know of one instance where someone fell straight away but be prepared it may take a while for AF to return to normal, it took some girls 2ww thread 5+ weeks to get their first proper AF. Hope this helps Pobs XX

Thank you for your comments, its been 3 weeks and 3days now, since removal, the last 2 days I have had really bad pains, like period pains but no bleeding, I am now wondering is that normal, or could that mean I am pregnant or just because I had the coil in for so long it takes a while to re adjust again. I am confused.......
I do not know much about the coil but I do know that I am experiencing the same symptoms as you are but without every having th coil. I get pains but I have not yet had any bleeding. But even after getting pregnant with my daughter 10 years ago I did not have any bleeding.
I say wait until you are at least 8-11 days past your coil removal to test. Aleast that will give you enough time to build up a readable amount of the HCG hormone that will give you an accurate reading if your are pregnant. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I am hoping to be pregnant as well. I have been with my husband(as of April 21, 2007) for 3 years and this is the first time we have done the deed while I was ovulating. So I hope this pain and the sore breasts and the frequent urination means I am PG.
I did a test on Sat and I am sorry to say it was NEG. :-(, but that just means I will keep on trying. I will be pregnant soon...:-) keeping positive, just wish the test was positive. good luck Kennedy7.... thanks for the encouragment from you both.
