Hi i was hopeing if anyone could help me and my best mate. my problem is i had a baby girl in November by c sec i lost alot of blood but i soon recovered i had my first period which was normal but then i started the everyday pill and i have'nt had a period since just light spotting is this normal?
Also my mate had a baby normal then went back on the pill she had her period fine then 3 months ago had a baby by c sec then had a normal period as she went back on the pill she has lost her period too is this normal when you have a c sec? please help[]

Hi Molly,
by everyday pill do you mean progesterone-only or mini-pill that you take right through the month? Or do you mean an ordinary pill that has 7 dummy pills to take in your pill break?
If it is progesterone only pill then it is a normal side-effect in some women to have irregular spotting rather than proper periods. Nothing to worry about, can be annoying though.

Molly - I can't really answer your question as this is my first baby.

Sometimes the pill with certain ingredients can make your periods do funny things like the coil.

Your best bet is to post over on the Midwife at hand thread as Jules is absolutely brilliant answering the girls questions.

Hi thank's for posting girls it's a real help as my period was fine the last time i was on the pill then change after Gemma was born was a bit weird. i did go to the doctors today and said to my gp she did say it could be that or a pregnancy but after the first period when weird i did a test which came out neg thankfully she did say it could be the pill and just to wait and see. I just thought i'd ask on here if the same thing happend to anyone else well thank's again and good luck to all.
