Rell-bell, I dont know if this is normal as I am yet to fall pregnant but I do not think that it is wrong. Just because you are pregnant and about to become a mother doesn't mean you should lose your identity, in fact I think it is very important that you retain your identity to show your child. I think being a woman is a very difficult ything because you are many things to many different people, but being woman should be a good experience not a bad one. Why can't you still have future goals and aims? It's about getting the balance right. If you want to teach your child to have ambition and goals in life then surely they should see that their mother has them as well. Yes 1 of your goals is to be the best mother you can be, but equally you are entitiled to be whatever else you want to be. My advice would be, be true to yourself, fulfill your potential and never stop trying to be the best you can in all aspects of life. If you feel fulfilled then so will your child. good Luck and dont let anyone tell you what you should be feeling/doing/thinking/aiming for.
