Cathy my tummy is beginning to look like a beachball, lol(!)and according to pregnancy calendar websites I've checked, tomorrow I will start week 7 (based on 1st day of LMP.) I got my BFP++ a week ago exactly and in that time my tummy has grown. How about you Kaz?

What are you two doing about exercise? I have an exercise bike (which doubles jolly well as a clothes airer, lol) and a Pilates Perfomer gym machine - big beast of a thing. It works on the principal of using resistance ropes and stretching. I used to use it every day and it made me really fit and toned. Then, like all things, I gave up. However it has made an appearance over the past few days and I have been exercising gently with it. I am taking the exercise sheet with me to the dr on Monday as I need to know if it's safe to use - it works your abs a lot (albeit gently) and I don't know if some of the exercises are a good idea when you're pg.

My kids keep reminding me I have a baby in my tummy, so yep! Its starting to feel real! And I LOOK pregnant! I normally have quite a toned stomach! But I am so bloated or whatever I have a bump hehe. My man is so excited and has told everyone. Its still early, but I feel positive!

I've had the occasional ouch pain, but mostly they are just nagging cramps which you get with a growing uterus. If you're really concerned see a dr Kaz!

For exercise I walk 30 minutes 4-5 days a week. Which is more than I did in my last two pregnancies hehe. I am a lot fitter this time around.

So you are just a bit over a week ahead of me Starsign! Very cool!

Cathy

Morning girls!

Still can't get used to the fact i'm pg yet! [Smiler] Keep looking at my tummy to see if theres a difference but nothing as yet, I think I might not show for a while as its my 1st and i'm quite big anyway. I haven't really given much thought to excercise yet but i'll prob just do some walking or swimming - I've never really been a big lover of excercise.
The cramps seem to have eased a bit over the last 2 days so i'm guessing they're just growing pains but I will mention them to the doctor when I go. We haven't told friends or family yet but I did have to tell my boss due to the nature of my job, she was really pleased for us though. Hoping to keep it quiet from everyone else
for as long as I can as i'm so scared something could go wrong.

Hope both of you are well, Maybe we'll get a few more girls joining us on here soon!

kaz 5+3

Hello ladies

Yes it's bizarre re the due dates! Kaz, how did you work out the 5+4? Did you base that on you LMP? Doesn't make sense to me as if I am due 7th April and you are 12th, that's only 5 days difference. I started week 7 yesterday according to the BBC website (based on LMP), so I suppose today I would be 7 + 1?? A number of different sites give the week you're in differently, but most of the UK ones give me as 7 weeks (counting the week where you started AF as week 1, and the US ones I saw were counting the week of AF as week 0, hence the difference.)

Jess and Cathy, you have children - how do you work that out? I will be asking dr tomorrow but in the meantime...

Thanks ladies [Smiler]

I don't remember which website I used, I think it was www.about.com which is american I think. Which website did you use to work it out then? You're right it doesn't make sense that i'm week 5 and your in week 7 when theres only 5 days difference so I must have done something wrong [:I] . My last period ( cd1 ) was july 6th but I had longer than average cycles and didn't ov till cd 22.I then got a +hpt on cd34 12dpo. How did you work it out if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Kaz, I found a website that had you at 5+4 and me at 6+2, which seems more sensible but it was a USA site and the week of the AF was week 0, which seems daft! So I use babycentre.co.uk and bbc.co.uk/parenting and they have me at wk7 +1 and you at wk 6 something. MyLMP was 1st July and I think I conceived on 16th - either way, it works out the same at week 7 + 1 or 2 on the UK sites as they include week of AF as week 1.

Just checked and it was the above website that I used to get the date. I also found another one www.midwifesonline.com and that one also gave me a fetal age of 5 weeks 4 days based on lmp. I give up, I don't know how to do it! I'll just wait and see what the doc says when I go. Its confusing isn't it!

Hello ladies
Well I saw my dr this morning, and DH came with me. I have a feeling I will be well looked after there - dr used to be an obstetrician, so not bad really! I also have multiple sclerosis and the dr is making sure I receive extra care because of that (I'm not disabled but the neurologist still needs to be made aware and to give his advice too).

I'm 39, so dr spelled out the greater risks at that age, eg Down Syndrome, m/c, with the result that at 12 weeks, instead of the usual scan at that stage, I am having one which can determine the risks of Down Syndrome by scannong the baby's neck!! Amazing. We could have it on the NHS in London, which is 50 mies away, or pay 100 and go to a private hospital here, so we're choosing the latter option. Apparently there are now safer options to test for Down's than an amniocentesis, such as blood tests - you'd normally have these at 16 weeks it seems.

He says he couldn't feel the womb just yet but that's normal and it's normally 12 weeks before you can, but he wanted to check I wasn't more pregnant than I thought!

He will also get the midwife to contact me - they come to your house apparently.

In terms of due date, he took the date of my last period (July 1st), subtracted 3 months (April 1st) and then added 7 days. It seems that's how they do it! He was a obstetrician so he should know! However his addition was a bit out as he said 6th April where I make that 8th (although websites tell me 7th)! He said 8th was probable but more likely to come a bit earlier so he kept it at 6th.

So finally I feel more pg although he did say when I have my first scan then it would really hit home.

I hope you're all well girls. Looking forward to hearing any news...

S xxxx

PS, the Pilates gym machine was given the green light so no excuses now for keeping it in a cupboard!
