just wondered if anyone could tell me which way the needle swings for either boy or girl? tried it today and it went side to side? so what does this mean?
any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure how much help this will be, but my manager at work did the test with my wedding ring and it said it was going to be a boy, and at a scan I was told it looked like a girl!!!!!!!

Hi Vicky there are different wifes tales but I was always told that side to side ment a little boy and around in a circle was a little girl some say other way round so, there is only one way to be sure and thats to see what baby is when he or she comes out. sorry!!!!. all the best Mireille xx

yes had the scan they have now changed my dates and instead of being 22 weeks im 21. they had a look for the sex of the baby and they were not sure so called someone else in to see they both disagreed with each other so didnt tell us. very upset now. have to have another scan at 37 weeks because had two large babys if it is big then i will probably be induced early as i was last time.
both girls were 9lb 3oz one was 2weeks over and other was 2days over.

it is there policy in our hospital not to tell you the sex of the baby!!!!! they only reason they were going to tell me is because the consultant signed the form first to say they could. didnt bother asking to find out again as it will be so close to the birth i might as well wait. but then in a phsycological point of view i was disapointed when no2 was a girl cos i was carrying different so thought it was a boy so if i was told it would mentally prepare me but it is too late now cos already seen the consultant.
might speak to the midwife to aee what she thinks.
