i'm glad cravings only last the duration of the pregnancy because i've seemed to have developed a weird one. I have developed a craving for wait 4 it hoovering (this is someone who absolutely hated it b4)
i could just be sitting there watching tv and all of a sudden i have the sudden urge to do the hoovering.During my last pregnancy i craved the smell of new carpets and shoe shops (told u they were weird!)
Please reassure me that i'm not the only 1 who has crazy cravings!

Well, I'm afraid I can't symapthise with you I'm afraid - we're still working on getting the cravings if you know what I mean! But I think yours are some of the wierdest cravings I've ever heard of!! I think it's part of the 'nesting' thing. Aren't you craving food as well as housework?! How far along are you?
Congrats and good luck!

Ever since i was small i have hated milk and so i hadn't eaten cereal for years but when i was pregnant i craved cereal with milk! I also craved cleaning! aparently its a nesting instinct!
Actually thinking about it i have been eating cereal again for the past few days! Maybe a pregnancy test is called for.

Hi, your not the only one with crazy cravings. I loved stripping wallpaper!! Luckily we did want to decorate but the smell was great. I feel crazy just thinking of it. my friend also had a wierd one, the smell of toilet duck. She would ask me to go and flush the loo so she could stand in the bathroom and smell it. she also loved DIY and Carpet shops. Strange things cravings! Just remembered another one who ate fish bones, now that is wierd...

with my first preganancy i had to keep going into the under stairs cupboard to smell the smell of leather jacket that was in there... i used to sit at work counting the minutes to go home so i could rush in there for a sniff!! it was like a drug, haha! you are not the only one dear. i also had a craving to clean the house top to bottom nearly every day as soon as i got up to the last thing at night! i would hoover and hoover the same carpet over and over again and then hoover it some more.
oh what a state pregnancy gets us in to!!! its aq wonder some of us arent locked up for 9 months!

As i'm a veggie i was really disappointed when both my pregnancies
produced really severe meat cravings, not only the meat but the blood.
When my mother in law was defrosting a joint of beef the urge to drink off the plate was over-whelming, luckily i could just walk away but i was really tempted. After several weeks of ignoring the craving i could no longer put up with it and had the lamb chop my husband was keeping for his tea, the craving stopped instantly and after my daughter was born i stopped eating meat again until now that is, it doesn't seem as bad this time but the craving is definately there.

when i was pregnant i craved food that was coloured orange or tasted of orange all i would have all day is lucozade and oranges or orange flavoured sweets. i did go off chocolate for about 3 months and i hated tuna it made me so sick (i usually love it). i worked on a fish stall and i couldnt even look at the tuna, and wen i moved to a checkout people who came thru my till always seemed to have tuna. i also liked the smell of hoover bags wen they are full, and then smell the hoover gave off, ice lollies, penny sweets. i wanted to smell petrol all the time and i would love goin to the petrol station.

Hi

I am only trying for baby number one at the moment so I don't have any interesting stories to tell but, just like Anne, I've found your stories great but now I'm thinking about what I might crave when it happens to me!!

I nearly woke my daughter up howling at all those messages! They were a great read... thanks for cheering me up!

I only craved red meat, which I presumed was for the iron content...
I wish my cravings were as interesting as all of yours! A fab read!
