I just asked because with all of my pregnancies Ive been under the care of the small local hospital, and I know a couple of people who have had there care based at a big hospital with one and a small hospital with the next and care was different.

Jack - have you asked for a 2nd opinion? You might find that it's policy at your hospital to have another c-sect after having them previously, but another hospital may well be more sympathetic to a vbac. Cheers Pele. [8D]

Pele They have said that although it is their policy to have a c section they will let me have a VBAC after counselling, and they will monitor me closely. I was really after advice on how likely it is for there to be complications so that I can make an informed decision. As they recommend c sections they will discuss the dangers but do not discuss how many women have actually suceeded. You are right it might be useful to get a second opinion. I don't want to go ahead if it is too dangerous. Jack

Snowrose.... hope all went really well on Friday!! I saw my midwife for the 1st time yesterday and its the policy here (Winchester, Hampshire) to encourage vbacs but she was lovely and we had a big chat about my last labour and she agreed that a planned section may be the best thing for me. She has referred me to a consultant who I'll see at 16 wks. Feeling less anxious already ) Summer 8+5 xxx
