i'm due june too, and planning a homebirth. how low is your placenta, as long as it is 2cm away from the OS then you should be able to birth at home. and also as your pregnancy progresses, your placenta will move up, getting it checked later in the pregnancy would give you a clearer picture of where the placenta is. c/s is major surgery and is in many cases unnessasary. it seems they are jumping the gun saying you should be for a c/s. also you are only recommended, they cannot MAKE you have one!! i'd get more informed about this if i were you!!

thanks for your reply,[ ] I didnt know about the 2cm, I was told I'd have no option. I've tried to find out more about the positioning of placentas but havent come up with much about it, do you know of any sites out there that have this information?. How is your pregancy going? I'm feeling it now, the extra weight has really gone on over the last few weeks!!!Are you working or at home?

www.homebirth.org.uk has lots of info up about all sorts of excuses and how they actually fit reality. there is also an assosiated mailing list of very knowledgable ladies who have fought for their right to birth at home. i'm feel full of energy, but back problems are letting me down baby was breech last week and m/w asked if i would like a scan, which i dont, i would still want to try and birth at home dispite this and she also asked me to do a glucose tolerence test as my last baby was very large, but again i declined as i would not feel it would change my plans. when are you due? i'm due on the 8th but not really expecting to birth until the end of june, all my pregnancies have managed to reach the 42 weeks mark, last one was a bit over that!!! Hi, Hope you are keeping well. Thanks for that I'll have a look on that site. How many children do you have?. I'm due the 16th of June. My son was a week early so if I can go myself I'm expecting to be at least on time!!!You sound very determined to have a home birth, have you had them in the past? My partner is easy to panic so doesnt want me to have a home birth, so its going to be very interesting if the plancenta has moved convincing him its the best idea. I was only in labour for 4 and 1/2 hours on my son, so I've been told that second can be faster and I dont fancy giving birth on the A12!!!

i have 4 children, my husband was not keen at first, but after 2 horrible hospital experiences i have had 2 homebirths, nothing beats it, i knew what i wanted, researched it well and after explaining to my dh that i am the one who suffers from a bad birth, at home things are much less likely to go wrong and even then, it isn't as traumatic as things like holby city make out!! the radical midwives website is very informative too. hope it all goes well for you!!
