Hi ladies Well was brave and went to breast feeding group, thankfully there were 2 women from my parentcraft classes so it was ok, at least i knew someone. Think it's more of a place just to gossip really but will probably go again next wk. Re the sex thing well me and DP did the deed last week and have to be honest and say it was definitely the right time and i was more than ready and i know poor dp was more than ready, bless him!! Off to docs next wk re contraception as we don't want any new additions just yet tho cos of my age (40) i guess we shouldn't wait too long if we want another but time will tell. Just one question, i stopped bleeding about 2 wks after birth but this week sort of had a mini period (I think). I thought that breast feeding meant you stopped or am I wrong? Forgive me for being thick but i'd appreciate some advice. Rusty - bedtime, i'm trying to get one but it doesn't work every night. Try to feed Aisha half a feed about 6.30pm, then bath and get her ready for bed, then finish feed about 7.30pm. She then lays awake in moses basket until about 8.30-9pm before she drops off then i take her upstairs to the bedroom (my room). Then i go to bed and if she's sleeping just leave her to wake up on her own for next feed, which can be anything from 11.30 right up to 2am depending on her mood. Saying that tho i'm not worried too much at this stage but trying a bit, jenni - wow Josh is growing really well, know what you mean about mw tho, i felt the same. get you and yr dirty weekend hope you enjoy it Jenny - know i'm too late but hope everything is going well and you have yr little one aleady now. Frenchie - good to hear from you and Reuben is doing well by the sounds of things. Sorry to hear he's got the granuloma thing too, i'd never heard of it before but i guess it must be fairly common. Aisha's seems to be settling now after the salt treatment and we're on a week of nothing so have to see how it goes. missc - not long now, mother nature is teasing you with the pains and then then going away but lets hope it won't be too long and in a couple of days our final baby will be here. Right better go now, Aisha is having restless afternoon and refuses to sleep, she just wants to be held today, goes to sleep then as soon as i put her down she wakes up and is grumpy again. Take care and have a nice weekend all. Jane xx

Hi All, Just a selfish question here! After ages and ages, as sex was not on the agenda throughout my pregnancy as dp was not keen, we finally!!!! did it last night! I wondered to all of those who have started too did you use anything to prevent more babies!! I did buy condoms but after such a long time i was not just about to say hang on a sec love lets think about this!! I know i can get a coil fitted after 6 week check and i think i will get a normal one back in. (i had the mirena last time and would only use that if i really knew no more babies for me) Its just til then i am not sure. (cant take pill etc due to family history and migraines etc but the low dose in mirena was ok) It is said you dont ovulate while feeding but i know its not totally reliable, the first thing dp said after was, theres the next one on the way!! (if it did happen my view is its meant to be although i would rather enjoy Sophie first!) Hope all is well with you all, Any new additions to our thread?? sorry for me me me post, just been wondering what everyone else thinks! catch up soon, Pinky xx

Hi everyone Pinky- I was under the impression that you couldn't get pregnant for the first 6 weeks anyway, and breastfeeding is something like 98% effective so i'm sure you won't have got pregnant. I'm not sure what contraception to go with either as i got pregnant on the pill and have never used anything else. Think i will ask doctor at 6 week check Jenni- glad the mw has now discharged you I felt sad too that i wouldn't see my mw anymore, they kinda become part of your life! How did the valentine's day treat go?! Frenchie- i find out on friday how long i have to go back full time (unless they are really nice and let me start part time sooner but i doubt it ), i also find out what hours i will be doing which means i can start planning things. Bit scared about the meeting though as big boss man going to be there! How's Reuben's granuloma doing? Harriet's has got loads smaller since being treated and no longer looks like a bit of intestines poking out of her belly button! Katy- how did your first night of routine go? Ours didn't go too well, mainly because i was missing those couple of hours cuddling in bed! She did eventually go to sleep at 9pm but woke again at 10pm for a feed. Had a little cuddle in bed with her then I'm dreading trying again tonight. Janie- glad you managed to get to the group, it sounds the same as mine just a gossip really. It is nice to know that there are people who are going through the same thing as you though even if you do only talk about telly! I thought that breastfeeding stopped your periods too DP got in the mood when we had a rare moment alone together on the sofa last night but i couldn't do it Think it's going to take me a bit longer to feel remotely attractive again. Think i'm the only one who's not done it yet Rusty x

Hi everyone, Had my meeting at work today to discuss me going back part time and i'm not too optimistic They basically said that if i go part time they'll need to employ another nurse part time too. They said the chances of doing that would be practically none which would leave them short staffed. As a charity they also can't justify employing a full time nurse instead, and they even said they'd struggle to fill that position as well. I tried really hard to state my case saying that i would be unable to continue breast feeding if i was to go back full time and that we can't afford child care (although my sister is having her). I really don't know what i'll do if they turn me down and i've got to wait 2 weeks for the decision!!! I'm going to be going mad with worry I'll be devastated if i have to bottle feed Harriet now.

Rusty, thats mean to keep you waiting on something so important, i suppose there is no question that you have to return to work, its just the question when and what hours. All i have to do this year is re-submit an essay for my final bit of my degree, I need to pick up the 2% i failed by (Yes 2%!!) so i am just tweaking it, if its still rubbish thats ok as long as its 2% better than it was! I have till Oct to get that done, i need to start looking at it a few months b4, i am glad i have no full or even part time study to do, i just would not get it done. Well all things baby now! Sophie weighing in on Thursday at 9lb 14oz, little chublett really putting it on now, i thought she was quite sicky but she must be keeping down enough. She is lovely, she has her daily kick, nappy off and legs kicking, she loves it! She sleeps ok, about 3-5 hours but recently has decided to get up at 4 or 5 in the morning, dp is at work by then so we cuddle up, that is our time! Well hope all is well, Any more arrivals yet?? Take care all, Pinky xx

Still trying to get organised at home but she's feeding and sleeping pretty well so we're all happy bunnies. Will be back soon to catch up, hope everyone's well. Missc - any news? Jenny xx

Just a quick one from me, Firstly huge congratulations to Jenny on the birth of Jemma Charlotte, wishing you all the happiness in the world. Rusty - yr work sounds like they're being quite unflexible so I hope that you can come to a suitable compromise that suits you. Aisha was weighed this wk and only put on 1 and half ounces so now she weighs 7lb 10oz. I'm not too worried as she is feeding really well and will be weighed again when HV comes on Wed to do her 6 wk check. I've got a cold at the moment and I think she has got a bit of one, she has hardly slept since 2am last night and I am exhausted but I can't complain as she is so good normally. Pinky - Sophie is really growing well missc - any news from you, good luck i won't be on a for a few days now, going up to stay with my sister tomorrow for a couple of days as she has not seen baby since she was born (except on skype!) and my nephews want to see her. Hi to Jenni, kayt and frenchie, hope all babies are flourishing. Bye for now take care jane
