hi all just a bit of a silly one really! was wondering if any of you have heard any old wives tales of how to tell the sex of your baby?! i know theres one you do with a wedding ring and it depends if it goes in a circle or swings to see if its a boy or girl?? not sure what means what tho haha!!
I've been told that you can tell from the heartbeat - if its 110-130 bpm its a boy and if its higher (mine was 140-150 average) then apparently its a girl.
Also chinese prediction based on the age you were at conception and the month you concieved - only prob with that is you need to be fairly sure when you conceived. If you do a google search of chinese sex prediction you'll find loads of webs sites that will give you an idea.
Watch the sites that ask you to pay tho - loads do it for free and its instant - you don't need to pay money to have a fun prediction what sex you are carrying!

Like Ever, I heard of one that was based on heartbeats. If it's under 150 it's a girl and if it's over 150 it's a boy. When I was having ds it was always 150 which told us nothing!
Another is listening to the heartbeat at antenatal appointments. If the heartbeat sounds like a train it's a boy, if it sounds like a gallopping horse it's a girl.
The best one i've done is the foot lump test. Sit with your feet in front of you. Feel just below the ball of each foot (in line with your big toe), on one foot there should be a small pea sized lump. You may need to have a good feel around. If the lump is in your left foot it's a girl, in your right foot it's a boy! I had a lump in my right foot from about 18 weeks pg and I had a boy! This has worked for friends too!
If your leg hairs grow really fast it's meant to mean you're carrying a boy.
If you crave mainly savoury it's meant to mean boy, sweet cravings are meant to be girl.
Also, bad ms in the beginning is meant to indicate a boy.
I loved the guessing game when having ds.

Hi folks, im a newbie but I just wanted to share an old wives tale........ I know the one where you hang thread through a needle. You lay your palm out flat and dip the needle 7x between your thumb and index finger, hang the needle and thread over your hand, if it swings around your supposed to be having a girl but if its in a straight line its a boy. Also the faster it moves the naughtier the baby lol.
I also craved oranges through my first preg and was convinced I was carrying a boy, people would joke it would come out with ginger hair...I had a little girl with brown hair, second time around a craved grapes and had a little boy with ginger hair lol....
