Hi ya My Partners parents tried to get it out of us on my first pregnancy but we stuck to our guns and said it was secret and wouldn't tell anyone until the baby was born ....we had the same problem with suggestions.....in the end they accepted that they'd have to wait. If they make suggestions just nod and say ' hmm maybe ' at the appropriate moment..........or say you have lots of different names but keep changing your mind..... ( or have you already said that you have definite name in mind? ) Show willing to keep them quiet and make your life easier and then just announce the name on the day. How far gone are you ?

I'm 13 weeks and this ismy 3rd so inlaws didn't hassle me with last pregnancy and won't this time. The other thing though that I forgot to mention is that they secretly questioned our names ( after we'd named them ) to my Partner. What a cheek eh ? Well at 22 weeks you have quite a bit of fobbing off to do.....I hope the hassles stop for you!!

Hi, Hope you don't mind me butting in about names. I am a school teacher so you can imagine the problems I have trying to find a name I like. Everything dh suggests I hate as I have taught a child with that name and s/he has been a little terror. Anyway getting back on the subject, I don't really want to share names with anyone as you can always tell by their face if they like it or not, even though they always say 'That's nice'. My sister is the worst as she is also a school teacher and has to add comments like 'Oh that is quite common' or ' Oh I taught a child with that name and he was a real ....' So if you want to keep your names secret, just say you cannot agree on any or you are not thinking about it till later Chele 20wks

This is my first baby and I am so excited although scared to bits about the labour. Is it as bad as it seems on discovery home and health?

Kerry, don't worry about labour. I won't go as far to say that it is an enjoyable experience but you will look back on it with fond memories as it is the day that you see your baby for the first time. I had a 36 hour labour with my son but it was worth every minute to see his face when he came out and 3 and a half years later I still look back on that day with pride. I cried and I moaned but I did not scream or swear like some of the women you see on tv and I don't think that my pain threshold is that good but what the hell, you could scream like mad and as long as the baby appears in the end, does it really matter? Hi chele, hello ladies I am on baby no 5 and badly struggleing with names, i already have three boys and one girl, seem to be doing ok with girl names but struggleing with boy names. My family have not really ask me names they have been more intrested in if im founding out the sex which i am not so they are all a bit cheesed coz they have to wait this time. Try not to worry about the labour, yes it is a little painful but i have never screamed or swore and its the only pain you will ever get when you get a lovely little bunddle of joy at the end. it makes it all worth the while and you do forget look at me i know its gunner hurt but i cannot remember exactley how much. sharonxxxx [ ][ ]
