Hi there, I am new to this site & just wondered if there is anybody out there that could give me some advice???

I had my Marina coil removed after 4 & a half years in hope that my partner & I could try for a new addition to our family, I have heard different things that it could take a while to fall pregnant is this true??

Also on day 8 after removal I only bled for around 2 hours & had nothing since. Do I take that as my period??? VERY confused!! Confused

Thanks for the reply Claire.

My G/P said exactly that to me aswell, altough she did say to maybe wait until my fist period before we start trying which of course I didnt.

I find it very strange that the G/P didnt explain any of this aftermath when I went to have it put in, but hey I had just had my first baby & the thought of another one at the time made me cringe. Now things have totally changed its nearly 5 years later & I would love to fall pregnant & complete my family.

Glad to have heard im not in the boat alone.

GOOD luck Claire!!! Let me know your progress

I posted on another forum as well. But I had my mirena removed today. My GP also told me I could start trying right away. I should ovulate this week and plan on trying...lucky me if it happens this cycle, although, I don't have my hopes up.

Good Luck to the two of you!
