Please can someone let me know what will happen when i have the marina coil removed and how long can it take to conceive. I am having mine removed next week as me and my partner are going to try for a baby. I have had mine for nearly 5 years and had no problems with it and no periods. Any info or advice will be great.

Take care all.x x x

Hi Smiler

I had my mirena coil out in October, personally I found it no worse coming out than going in, initially they couldn't locate Eeker, but got there in the end. I bled for about an hour a day for the first 5 days and then nothing, then i had a light af in nov then 28 days later I had a very very af in dec. Hoping I may get a bfp this month. I did not have af at all during the 4 years that I had the coil.

Hope this helps and good luck, hoping to see you on ttc thread soon Smiler

Heidi

Hi, well I have my coil removed last February adn fell pregnant in the August. It was not painful at all coming out and I had had this for neaely two years and no periods. I had a slight bleed after 10-12days but must say it was approximately 2 months for my periods to start properly and regular. Many women on here have had the mirena and fertility seems to differ with every story, some have fell pregnant as soon as Mirena removed others like myself have beena few months and some over a year. Good luck to all having this removed and hope to see you on due in thread soon x

Netty I was the same my two little girls I feel pregnant with them both within 1 month of stopping the pill with first one and the norplant with the second. With this one I bought ovulation kits, took temperatures everything, sometimes think everyone is right it is better not to plan too much. thanks for congratulations, will be watching to return it to you soon - fingers crossed x

Netty as they say you can fall pregnant as soon as removed, so as I am the impatient type I tried one 3 weeks after removal and then waited another month before trying again Smiler

Hi all Smiler

I had mine removed on 27.12.07 after having it implanted for 3years and had no periods during this time. I took my period on 29.12.07 for a full 5 days and then away it went, lol!

I started using the ovulation kits as I wanted to be sure and hit the right time for trying, and I ovulated on 17.01.08, just keeping our fingers crossed now, period due on around 29-31.01.08.

Going to do a pregnancy test on 31.01.08, if my period hasn't come, although I am very crampy and have been for a couple of days, so I am not really expecting for any joy just yet, but you can hope!!!

I am just new to this site so not great yet with the abbreviations, but I hope this helps!!!

Luv Gillianxoxo

Hi,

New to the forum so bear with me. Confused
I am thinking of having my marina coil out to try for our third worried as I have had it in for 5 years and also for the fact I am 36 this year. Am i mad? My boys are 8yrs and 9 and a half yrs old so will be big age gap.
Wanted another one for a couole of years but keep surpressing the feelings but they don't seem to want to go away.
Was told that you had to wait three months before trying once coil was out is this true.
Looking forward to hearing from you all. Wink

Hi Polly... I had my Mirena removed two weeks after my 36th birthday (37 today) and I also have two children and did wonder... Some Dr's will tell you to wait 3 months as this ensures that your periods are back to normal in some sort of routine, but many people on this forum have fell pregnant as soon as coil removed and gone on to have healthy babies so dont think there is a set rule.. Good luck, hope it happens quickly for you x

With my first two - I would say a month with both of them, the first was after the pill and the second was after the Implant in my arm and they said then it could take 3-6 months for body to get back to normal. This time round did take 6 months from date of removal to finding out I was pregnant. I used digital Ovulation tests, but do think this put more pressure on DH to perform and also me too. Good luck hope it happens soon x
