Hi XXDWXX

My son had the same problem, there is a thing as cause and effect.

The body is a machine that needs nutrients etc. The body is also a chemical factory. And the main reason for your body to come like this is possibly your hormones (which are chemicals). If you are still in your teens, the growing/developing process will be with you for a while.

I got my son to look at what he was eating. All the things that cause the body to produce spots.

- He wasn't drinking a lot of fluids (water), and what he drank was sweet.
* Got him to drink more water, and less sweet drinks.
-He would eat chocolate, but I knew why. His hormones when heightened called for it.
* Got him to find other alternatives for chocolate.
- Using creams that clogged up the pores, making the skin impossible to breath. So spots would come up.
* Got him to use soap for sensitive skin and no creams.
- He would go to bed late, the body needs to rest to acquire better hormone balance in the body.

You have to understand that what you put in, will come out at some point. Look at your diet and just take time to change little things like the above.

Nothing you do will show instant results, you have to take tie. Give yourself a month. Give yourself a goal. Be consistent, and disciplined. You WILL get good results, my son did.

Hi dont worry. I too have started to suffer from acne[Frowner] but I went to my doc who gave me some tablets and it has started to clear up. These tablets have to be taken every day without fail for up to six months so dont give up taking them after a couple of weeks if you arent seeing any results it does take a while but they will work I promise you[Smiler]. I know the feeling about having to wear make up to hide the spots but try to take it off as soon as you get home and always clean your face before going to bed. Also drink plenty of water. Dont buy those spot products that promise you miracles because they dont work most of the time and they dry out young skin, just use a nice moisturiser like nivea pure of something gentle like that. Acne needs to be cleared from the inside out so no cleanser or moisturiser will do it for you

Hi,

I just wanted to share my experience of acne/bullying when i was a teen.

I had the same problem, Dr prescribed numerous drugs and was even referred to a skin specialist but with no success until i asked my Dr to try the contraceptive pill. I was only 13 but was desperate and he'd exhausted all other measures but after being on Dianete for 3 months my skin seriously cleared up.

I don't mean go out and demand to be put on the pill but maybe speak to your doc about it and see whether he thinks it would work for you.

It certainly worked for me, all that medication is a thing of the past and i can actually leave the house without a mask of foundation.

As for the bully I had all that grief too and i believe it is all down to their own low self asteem. Be strong, hold your head high and remember that when your skin is as smooth as a babys bum, he will still be sad and bitter person he is today.

Hope everything works out well for you [Smiler] x

i'm 16 and have bad spots also. I get called names and people think i dont wash. Although i do, i probably washed far more than they ever have done.

I found out that washing very frequently produces more oils in the skin which get trapped in the pores so only wash 3-4 times a day.

I was told never to use soap but to use face wash such as oxy daily face wash. with some people soap has bad reactions with the skin which can cause spots

I dont eat chocolate and hardly eat sweets. I have a healthy diet but still nothing changes. My doctor told me my eating habbits dont have any effect on acne. He said eating fatty foods is bad for other health problems and can cause 'none acne spots'

A technique that seems to work is filling a bowl full of boiling hot water and puting your face about 3 inches away from it. The steam gets into the poors and losens the bactera. After this you should wash your face.

I tried tablets and they were rubbish untill i researched about them and found out if you drink milk it reverses the effects and could make the condition worse. So i decided to only have toast in the mornings after i took the tablet with water. It worked wonders till i ran out of them! so i went to the doctors for some more and this other doctor told me i should try cream :O i was angry because my spots have been bad ever since.

My spots have never been as bad as they have been.

i hope some of this information can help you. Smiler

This is so unfair, no-one needs to suffer from bad acne these days. Please guys see your GP's (with your parents if you need to) and demand a referal to a dermatologist.

Your GP can help, but if it is really bad or is distressing you a lot, a dermatologist can give you medications that will get rid of it over the course of a few months.

The dermatologist can also prescribe specialist makeups that can hide the acne without causing further problems. Again, this is something I know about from very bitter experience. I am lucky, I don't have much scarring, but again that was something my dermy helped to sort out.

Make sure that you don't put up with it, bad acne is not only disfiguring, but bl****dy painful as well.

hi i suffer with spots and blackheads i mainly get it on my face, and i can imagine how you feel i hated it when i was younger im nearly 22 and it isnt much better than when i was younger ive been given all sorts across the years but i hate going to the doctors the ive been made to feel by them is its not a big deal but it always has been to me. ive been looking more into natural remedies and change of diet as i dont like popping tablets, ive heard that drinking a glass of hot water with half a lemon squeezed into it every morning helps clear poor skin up, something about the acidity in the lemons helps neturalize the body, it tastes pretty vile but ive heard it works well so maybe give that a try for a couple of weeks and see if theres an improvement. jen xx

Hey there, i know exactly how you all feel as i suffer from acne also... Only its not just on my face, since i was about 13 i have had it on my back also, somedays i get so upset with it that i dont realise that im actualy scratching at it which makes it worse and makes it blead. Because of this it has meant that i cannot wear strappy tops and i am so self concious and it is one of the worst feelings in the world. I dont really like summer anymore because i feel that i always have to cover up my skin and i have to cover my face with makeup because of scars.

I have cousins who have used various treatments which worked for them but now at the age of 18 nothing has seemed to have worked for me and i just dont think it will get better. The acne which i had on my face wern't just white-heads, they were big lumps under the skin which used to hurt and meant that my face was regulaly swollen.

I cant grow my nails because im scared of scratching my skin further which will damage it more. I have tanned skin and my scars are a dark brown so they really stand out.

So basically if anyone knows anything which is good for scarring please get back to me... thankyou

Hi guys,
When I was a teenager I had really bad acne too suffered with acne from the age of 10. I am now 21 and have only just gotten rid of my spots. I had 10 years of acne treatment and nothing worked, until a friend told me about Roaccutane. Its a very strong tablet which is a vitamin A derivative. You have to get in from the Dermatologists as it has some really bad side effects. None of which I experienced I must add. Do some research on it and then see if ur doctor will refer you. All my scars went as well.
Try not to worry too much as strss can make it worse. take care.

Hey all! I know that this may not be very helpful but I wanted to share. I have quite bad skin and have done from a very young age (9years old). I used to find it very embarrassing and still some days, I find myself wondering what other people will think of me due to my skin. Like yourself I wear foundation - and a completely full face of make up - everyday. However, with a careful yet easy routine (taking off my make-up, washing my face and wearing an oil free moisturiser) I have started to see an improvement. What the main point of my post was to say, please don't be embarrassed! There are loads of others out there like you Smiler Keep your chin up and smiling and you'll still look beautiful, with or without skin like a model. Take care! Beth
