Hello i'm 21, my periods have always been fairly regular. I am late by 10 days now and dont know what the cause could be. I had protected sex (used a condom) last month and i took a home pregnancy test which resulted in negative a few days ago. I'm really worried as i don't know what's going on. I recently had lots of travel immunizations as i am going to africa in a couple of months and dont know whether this has anything to do with it, or whether ther are chances i am pregnant. please help!
As you a) used a condom and b) have done a test which was negative, it's highly unlikely you are pregnant. As far as I'm aware immunisations don't have an effect on your menstrual cycle, but don't quote me on that. I would say it's more likely to be worry and stress that has caused your period to be late. You're probably excited/anxious about your trip to Africa, and then your period being late is just increasing the worry. So try to relax and put it to the back of your mind.
You could also do another test, which I'm sure will always be negative, and will help put your mind at ease. If you're still worried, see your doctor for advice but I'm sure it's nothing.
