I have a 4 year old and have just found out that I am pregnant again. I hate the thought of the sleepless nights again. Please describe, in detail, what the pick up and put down method is. I am a new viewer and am really interested in this program. Thanks

i agree with tray mum to certain extent do the makers of the mandy haberman feeder pay her to promote their product as that bottle in my view was a waste of money. i bought it for my baby who i was breast feeding, but found because she was already an established breast feeder she would take any bottle. might be good when baby is new born so doesnt confuse nipple + teat. But if breast feeding is going well + mother + baby happy then should nt need to give any bottles. The haberman was originally for babies with feeding difficulties.

I watched this program throughout my pregnancy and learnt quite a lot about dealing with baby's behaviour, but I have to agree that a lot of the information is common sense. Now I've had my son I can see that the parents are so tired and are at their wits end that they need a third person to come in and say the obvious! I keep thinking that I'll try some of the advice that is given but at the end of the day I do whatever is needed to get some peace and sleep. Sometimes babies just have to be babies and you need to go with it.

if you need feeding advice go to a qualified counsellor or lactation consultant.

I think the baby whisperer is what saved me going round the twist. It is shame she will not be here to make any new programmes. To TRAYMUM, I

Forgive me, I will post a reply correctly soon.

To TRAYMUM, i disagree with your comment about the baby whisperer, her advice on all matters saved me from going insane. I am a first time mum and knew nothing about babies, everything was trial and error. I could not keep up with my babies' demand for feeding as I was getting no sleep. I introduced a bottle at bedtime and it helped me catch up. My baby had no problem swapping between bottle and breast and now she rarely has a bottle and sleeps through the night.

Tracy Hogg's advice may be a lot of common sense but when you are a first time mum and at your wits end, you do not know what common sense is. How do I know that if my baby leans back she is hungry? I know now from Tracy's book, if she leans back stiffly she has wind. The best bit of advice was about tiredness, I look out for yawns and on the third my baby goes to bed, it all works. Without her book I would still be going round in circles when my baby is crying not knowing what is wrong with her.

It is a big shame she was so cruelly taken from us, without sounding selfish as I too lost my mum when she was 43, but I will miss her programmes and that there will not be a new series. I will be passing her book onto a friend who is about to have a baby and hope it works for her like it worked for me. GOD BLESS YOU TRACY, SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO ALL HER FAMILY

I have just learned of Tracy@s death and want to say how sorry I am. I thought she was a wonderful lady, full of compassion for mothers and babies. Her fund of knowledge and common sense will be sadly missed.

I was never a fan of hers, but it's so sad that she passed away so young. What a shame. Condolences to her family.
