Does anyone out there know the job title of the person who cares for new mums and there new born babies for the first few months.

Not sure what you are asking, but you might be thinking about the Health Visitor. She/he is help to monitor the growth of baby and give any advice/reassurance. One point to note - if you don't register your baby with your surgery they can't help. In my area the health visitors run drop-in clinics weekly but they are always at the end of a telephone (via the abominable ansaphone!)
