Today is my first day and I've struggled, I'm terribly hungry but I'm just reassuring myself that it will get better. I'm ok on the soups and chocolate drinks but I was wondering if anyone has any inventive ideas on what to do with them as I think they are going to get boring very quickly just making them up as drinks everyday!!! Confused

Hi Becky.
Think you may have come to the wrong place if you are looking for support! I asked for some the other day and have not had a single reply, I believe I may have stumbled onto a real clique here and as soon as I can figure out how to do it I am out of here!

Good luck with your diet, perhaps you can find a site where the members are more supportive to newby's.

Hi

This is not such a fast moving forum so maybe this is the reason for the lack of replies. I only visit occasionally so have only just seen this.

Someone else will probably reply soon.

If you are unhappy here you can visit the Company owned forum www.cambridgedieters.com or www.minimins.com.

Hello,
This forum has been very quiet lately...but we are not at all cliquey(sp?) it's just that we perhaps don't get on as often as we'd like to anymore... so i don't think it's very fair of heather to make such a judgement...
you are both very welcome here.. and generally we just dip in and out of each others threads when we can...
As for feeling hungry on your first day it is very hard for the firtst 3 or 4 days but once you are in ketosis it does get easier and it is so worth it when you see the lbs dropping off..
There is a thread somewhere with unofficial recipes for the CD packs i will try and find it and bump it up for you..
Keep glugging the water when ever you feel hungry you can do it so stick with it..
claire

Hi Becky, hope your still sticking with it and not feeling too much like eating your own arm at the moment. Its true that when ketosis kicks in you will be feeling so much better, the hunger will go and you will get a boost in your energy. You will always have to fight the little naughty gremlins in your head telling you to eat but when you have your first weigh in and see fantastic results that will keep you on the straight and narrow.

As already explained, this forum is a bit quiet right now, but bare with it and i am sure you will get the support you need here.

If you are finding that you are hungry, try splitting your packs in half so it feels like your having something more often. You can try using the mixamousse too, i always found one of them in the evening was quite filling and i see that Claire has bumped up the other thread for you to look at on different things to do with your packs. Oh and if you want you can make a jelly up with the water flavouring and add your mixamousse and pack on top to make a trifle type thingy. Anyway good luck and stick with it cause it will get easier.

Thank you for all your advice, 3rd day in and it's been a bit if a nightmare with a banging headache but I'm finding water is definitley the key - it keeps the headache at bay a little and fills me up! I'm looking forward to my first weigh in when I'll be able to see the fruits of my labour for the first time! Thanks again guys xxx

Hi Becky

As others have said before this forum isn't half as busy as it used to be but the support on here got me through some VERY tough times on the cambridge diet!

Firstly a huge well done on getting to day 3 thats a big achievement! A s soon as you hit ketosis (fat burning) your headaches will give and you will feel great. It used to hit me on around day 7 / 8.

Stick with it ... you are doing brill and someone is usually on here at least once a day so keep typing your thoughts and I promise to try and pop in and see how its going!

xx

Thanks Julie and thanks Claire for bumping up that thread with different ideas, just made a chocolate muffin which was a bit like a bouncy ball!! Think I just over cooked it a little but it certainly went down a lot quicker and easier than it does as a drink. Feeling good and positive, just gotta get thru my first sunday night with no sunday dinner Frowner

You can do it, just keep glugging that water. How much are you trying to drink, the optimum amount for weight loss is 4 or 5 ltrs, its true what they say about the more you drink the more you shrink. Have you tried the water flavourings? I also had Perfectly Clear Strawberry and Kiwi and also the Apple, they contain mallic acid and not citric acid so shouldnt take you out of ketosis, i know everyone is different but i drank about 4 ltrs of that every day and it really helped.

Keep at it and altho its sunday, really its just another day and another day closer to your goal.

Woo hoo, go you. Well done and you should be feeling well proud of yourself. Make sure you measure yourself each weigh in day as well because some weeks the losses may not be what you want, but i assure you that the inches will still be moving and the weight will catch up. Keep going.
