Hello, here i am on my very slow computer....it's so annoying isn't it? Thanks Jax for you're lovely words i so needed them. How are you doing hunny?
I have come on for another moan...sorry guys....you don't have to read it...but i am hoping it will make me feel better Roll Eyes
i have been doing Slim Fast since last thursday...and at first it seemed to go very well but i haven't lost any weight my official weigh in day is tomorrow, but like many of you i weigh myself daily to help me stick to the straight and narrow...i am the weight i was when i started and this is driving me mad.. i have tried what seems to be every diet known to man this last 3 months and not one of them has resulted in any significant weight loss... i am getting so fed up with it all.. my dress won't fit me unless i can lose about 10-14lbs i don't want to have to have it adjusted...it's not a great deal to lose but it just won't budge... i am feeling so frutrated with it all... Mad
I know there are more important things in life to worry about but i can't help it... OMG it's not even TOTM!!! Roll Eyes i can go back on CD next week but i am not sure if i can face it after all my failings of the last few weeks....what shall i do?
Any advice is gratefully received!!
claire

Hey! Don't despair.

If you went from CD to Slim Fast then your body will need time - weeks, maybe - to adjust. I like SF but it is high in carbs, and has lots more calories. VLCD-ing has a marked effect on how you metabolise food, esp carbohydrate. (If you didn't move straight from CD to SF then you might want to ignore what I've just written!

I've just been through this transition, myself. I am now losing weight on 1000 calories. Once or twice each week I drop the calories to around 800. I still limit carbs to an extent, but I eat mostly regular food, with one or two CD meals per day.

Exercise makes a big difference so you might think of stepping it up at least every other day - not going for the burn, just walking a bit more or whatever.

Good luck and don't give up.

Lots of us suffer in this way.

I only eat around 1200 calories every day, any more and I put on weight and never lose weight. (My ticker is wrong)

The only thing I can suggest to you is to eat more, but eat in six small meals of around 300 calories a day. The idea being that you never eat enough to turn into fat. The body gets use to the regular food and finaly releases its fat.

It didn't work for me but it may be worth a try for you. Also it is hard to eat food again without the guilt trip.

I suppose you have tried the exercise, that doesn't work either, I exercise two hours a day.

After months of good but unsuccessful dieting my friend was told by her slimming club to stop dieting and accept her new weight a stone off her target.

God knows how an anorexic can do it.

Maybe the stress of the wedding will help you lose.

Oh Claire, feeling for you hun. I know how frustrating it is, especially with your wedding coming up. I wish i knew the answer for you. I know you cant do alot of exercise at the moment, did the doctor sign you off work again? You have to listen to your body hun and dont go doing anything silly. Any chance of following one of the other stages of CD, ssing is so hard after the first time around and perhaps thats just not an option for you now. I know vikki is following it by having 2 packs a day and an evening meal (healthy options) although allowing herself a little of what she fancies to stop that feeling of being deprived. I wish there was a thin fairy out there hun and i would send her round to you immediately, but at the end of the day you are not obese and i know that from your photos. Wish i could be more positive for you, i think your gonna have to work this out for yourself and just be so strict with yourself. Sending you good positive vibes hun. Karenxx

Hi Claire, I'm sharing your frustration and I really do sympathise. Having read the other replies everyone else has covered exactly what I was going to say! SF is high in carbs...REALLY high...32g per shake I think. Do you do OK on a high carb regime or have low carb plans worked better for you? There are Atkins Tetras available which are 2g of carb per shake...or have a look at sports supplements...Maximuscle do a whey protein shake in strawberry or chocolate, which is low cal and low carb. You can get it in bigger Tesco and GNC.

Are you having issues with wanting to eat what you like and 'sod the diet'? In which case I'm finding that 2 or 3 packs (LL) a day and an evening meal with something 'treaty' is working out for me. I lost 2 pounds last week, and already the scales this week show a 4 pound loss...although I have decided not to have packs on the weekend, and saw a small regain due to that. Did that make sense...I was 12 12 last Monday, went down to 12 6 on Friday, ate over the weekend and was 12 10 this Monday and am 12 6 again today. Still sounds confusing when I read it back to myself!! Confused What I'm trying to say is that I'm following the 80/20 rule and it's working OK, be good as much as you can and allow yourself to relax once a day. I don't feel deprived and I feel happy to keep going.

What with the wedding to plan, there is so much else for you to concentrate on right now, so you need to find a WOE that works for you without giving you an extra headache. But keep coming here for a moan...we are all happy to listen!! Really we are!

Thanks girls...as always you are right i do need to find something that is going to work for myself... i am getting fed up of dieting i find myself frustrated after a week of one diet when i get no loss and then end up trying something different... i do feel like saying sod it... and i would try the 80/20 rule but with the wedding coming up i feel i need to do something drastic...
Vikki, i didn't realise that slim fast was so high in carbs, maybe that it why i am having trouble... i am going to try it for on more week and i f i have no luck theni am going to give my CDC a call and go back on CD but i will do 790 there is no way i can face SSing...no matter how desperate i feel, if i don't see a serious improvement in the weight loss dept then i will speak to the woman who is altering my dress about having the panel widened... i can't do this anymore... I did lose 1 stoneon slimfast before which was why i tried it this time, andi also lost weight with Atkins before as well.. i am so fed up of Faddy diets...i can't be bothered anymore.... but i willstick to SF for on more week and then try CD.. although i may change my mind by tomorrow!!!
thanks again everyone... you have all been very helpful as usual.. it's so nice to vent to people who know exactly how i am feeling..
Claire

Hi Claire

If it's any consolation I think a lot of us are feeling the same. The only thing I can advise is to keep plugging away at what feels right for you

Not much use, just wanted you to know you're not alone

Hi All,
thought i'd post my weigh in today... i GAINED 2lbs HUH!!! so much for slim fast... more like Fat Fast!!!anyway, i have decided that for the rest of the week i will do a low carb/atkins style diet and i have emailed my CDC to beg an appointment next week when i will restart CD but doing 790...as i will be 12 weeks post op then... so i am hoping that i will then start to lose some of this weight i have gained.... i am only going to do it for 4 weeks just to get into my dress and then i don't think i will do it anymore.. i need to find a way to lose weight steadily with out CD i can't keep doing this to my body.. it is becomingtoo much of a YOYO diet...
so today i ate a salad with chicken and a yogurt...(not exactly low carb but there you go) for dinner i am having a pork chop with stir fry veg. i am also going back to the Gym next week so hopefully that will help...i felt so down this morning when i had gained weight..and it is all because of the pressure i am under due to the wedding.
Anyway, i am going to try going back onto CD and see if i can lose this 1 stone i need to get into my dress.. i have time don't i? it is doable isn't it? Reassure me Guys!!

It is absolutely do-able, and if you start to regroup now, you will have no problems at all. Apart from anything else...I'm going to keep bumping your wedding dress piccies to drive home the message!
