Hello everyone,

I originally started CD in April this year and managed to lose 4 stone over about 5 months, which i am really pleased with, but for the last 8 weeks i have been finding it really hard to stick to the diet. i have been eating and trying to stick to 790 plan but the last 2 weeks i have been eating carbs again and really not focussed at all. when i first started the diet i used to come and post from time to time but haven't for a long time although i do confess to lurking as it is quite inspiring.

So I am back and before i put on any of the weight i lost i am hoping that with a bit of support from you guys i might be able to shift the last 23lbs i need to lose to get to target.

Here are my Stats:
Started at: 17 stone 5lbs. Red Face
Current weight: 13 stone 2lbs
Target weight: 11 stone 5lbs(which will be just into normal BMI)

So I feel i am so close yet finding it harder than i did when i first started.
Am hoping to write daily or more often depending on temptations to try and keep me on the wagon.

Anyway, would love to hear from anyone who wants some support in return. Smiler

Hi Claire and welcome back, congratulations on your loss so far, thats really great and i am sure with the support on this forum you will become even slinkier and reach your final goal. I cant believe how much it has helped me over the past 8 weeks. You are obviously well aware of how the diet goes, ups and downs and stuff and am sure you will succeed. Good luck and look forward to reading your posts. Karenxx

Hi Karen,
Thanks for your kind words.
You are obviously doing really well judging by your tracker. how long have you been doing this diet? Are you doing CD also?

Hello Claire, we started at the same weight more or less and I am hoping to have lost 4 stone by the end of my 100 days foundation on LL, which ends on December 28th. I can imagine that getting back onto SS after a break will be a challenge, but I find the support on this forum invaluable in moments of despair! If I feel the emotional need to eat, I log onto here instead and I've been very successful so far in banishing my daemons! (apart from the saucisson incident- which is behind me now and I have moved on!! Razzer)

So welcome back, and good luck with your restart. You've come a long way already, and the bonus is that you maintained your weight while you had a break from the plan. Keep posting!

Vikki.

Claire - yes i am doing CD, 8 weeks, but had a whole week off, but very careful. I really hope to get to goal by xmas, but will have to see and can see myself putting some on over festive period, but know i can get rid pretty quickly after, although i do plan to be very, very good. How old are your children(child)? I have 3 1/2 year old twins, one of each. Karenxx

Hi Vicky,

It looks like you are well on your way to losing 4 stone by xmas. good luck. I read about your saucisson incident - these things happen when i was ssing the first time i had a run in with a piece of quiche and a glass of champagne ( i was at a christening - Not my usual indulgence food....I wish) the main thing is that you got straight back on the diet.
well done! Smiler
will you continue to SS after your 100 days?

Hi Karen,

I have 1 daughter aged 4. I would love to have more children but have been having some fertility probs and despite trying for 2 years nothing has happened. we are having tests done and may have to go for fertility treatment. this is part of my reason for losing weight despite being nearly 16 stone when i (naturally) conceived DD the doctors all think that being overweight is the cause of all problems. (that and smoking of course!!) Anyway despite losing 4 stone i have still not fallen pregnant. but in order to have fertility treatment i have to be in a normal BMI.
Ok long story over. Twins must be hard work. My sister has 1 year old twin boys and she keeps saying how much hard work it is but i have a feeling she doesn't know the half of it. I mean the terrible twos and threes were bad with one. Two at the same time doesn't bear thinking about. Red Face

Welcome back Claire!
I started CD about 8 weeks ago, having lost 6stone on LL and regained about half of it. I have now lost 1stone despite the fact that I have been struggling but I am determined to keep on going, I HAVE to get back down again, and if I have to do it slowly, then I will!
I really hope you get the support you are looking for on here. I certainly find things easier when I can post. They are a great bunch!!
I am sure you can do it, and it is FANTASTIC that you are doing something about it now and not after 3 stone up like me!!

I started at 18 10 or more, not sure how much as I didnt wiegh myself much back then.
Went down to 12 7, back up to 15 11 and am now 14 10.
I want to get to 10 10 if I can, but we will see. I will gladly settle for a decent size 14.

I know you can do it, and these girls can help. they are good humoured, generous, kind and sensible. Many are also wise and gracious. very accepting too
still, enough mush
see you around

Katie xx

Hi Claire,

Of course you can do this your an old hand now after already losing 4 stone and keeping it off too! 23Lbs is easy Roll Eyes

Just think how daunting it was when you were 17 stone 5Lbs. Head down knuckle down you will be at target before you know it. Spring is only around the corner!

oldmummy no hope is needed for you 9.5Lb before Christmas! Of course you will reach goal in time. I have every faith in you to do this.

Thanks Sarah i certainly hope so.

Claire, i totally sympathise with the fertility thing, my two are IVF after 9 years of trying different fertility treatments, do you know what tests you might be having yet? Just because you need tests does not mean you need IVF, it could just be timing not great since loosing the weight or your body needing to readjust itself. Great to get back on the diet tho and give yourself the best chance in the world.

Yeah i think twins at age 2/3 are harder work than when they were 1, they didnt answer back for a start Big Grin Big Grin Still worth every second though and they are totally our lives, hey took long enough to be blessed, but we got there in the end. Karenxx

Claire, as I will have another 3 1/2 to 4 stone to go after Christmas, I shall go on to Development and continue to SS until target.

hi sorry i was out for the afternoon supposedly xmas shopping but didn't buy any presents for any one. never mind.

Sarah, i am finding that since i have lost the bulk of my weight and gaining confidence that it's harder to stick to the plan. I find people telling me how great i look a reason to stop dieting and actually people have started telling me that i shouldn't lose any more - because my face looks too thin..... Roll Eyes Alot of these people have only ever known me as really overweight( i hate the word Obese....so negative lol) i know all the psychology behind people feeling uncomfortable about you changing for the better but it doesn't inspire me to continue. I think the last 8 weeks have been good in a way because i have got used to my weight loss which was so fast that it almost felt unreal. Now though i feel that i need to lose more weight because deep down i am not happy at this weight. i want to be slimmer. any way enough about me.... Red Face. how is your weight loss journey going. it looks like you are doing excellently how long has it taken you? are you SSing? how are you finding it?

Karen,

I am about to go for a laparoscopy and dye in two weeks time. i have had an hsg which showed one tube to be patent but the other tube didn't flow properly the radiographer thought it was machinery fault though. i am ovulating and they have given me clomid which didn't work. DP SA was ok according to the drs. morphology was poor but count was high so they didn't think any probs there. all hormone levels were ok. so i think lap and dye is last test before referral to fertility clinic for treatment. How many cycles of ivf did you have before your boys came along? you must feel so happy to have them after 9 years of trying. How did you cope with the pressure that must have created. We have been trying for 2 years and it's a real strain. and we count ourselves lucky to have DD. you must be a really amazing person.

Vikki,
I am sure you will do really well. will you be SSing over Xmas? What is development? I do CD so don't know much about LL.

Claire

Ok so nearing the end of day 1 restarting and i have to confess that i didn't SS today. I just had the most horrendous headache this afternoon. obviously due to the diet but just felt sick. so i decided to have protein and salad at dinner. i know it's worse because i have been eating carbs for the last two weeks and so it's much harder to stick to. so i am going to avoid carbs completely for the next couple of days and then move down to SS. which i hope will be easier for me to deal with. So although i haven't managed to SS today i don't feel too bad because i have managed to avoid carbs today which is a step in the right direction ( she says) OK i am going to finish watching I am a celebrity... (i love that programme)

Hey Claire

Just wanted to pop in to say "Hi" and tell you how well you're doing

You're right, Karen is an amazing person - a little star! - as are Vikki, Sarah & Katie - but you don't sound too shabby yourself!!!

Good Luck with the rest of the diet and your fertility treatment

Ails x

Claire, with LL you start at foundation which is a minimum 100 day commitment. If you want to lose more weight after that you go into Development, which is more SS (except its not called that on LL, it's just abstinence), then when you are near or at target (your choice) you go in to Maintenance, which is a step by step programme to reintroduce food types back in to your diet.

As for carb withdrawal- it sucks, but it won't kill you ( I hope not anyway!!), so I can see why you would want to go in to it slowly this time around!!

Hi Claire, i actually have a boy and a girl so i was very lucky to get a complete family in one go. I went through 9 sessions of assisted conception (not full IVF) and 2 lots of IVF, we were very lucky that i caught on what was to be our last attempt, we did save up and go to private clinic for the last one, so very expensive but sooooo worth it and our consultant was a complete star. It is a very emotional journey and not for the faint hearted, along our journey we nearly split up, but managed to hold things together by talking about everything. We were both thinking different things and didnt talk, but when we realised there was a problem we just had to thrash it out between us. I have to say i think it has made us stronger as single people as well as a couple. It is a very hard journey to undertake but if you are lucky enough to get the right result then it has to be worth it. Communication is definately the key. I wish you all the luck in the world with your tests, these days it isnt the end of the world if you cant conceive naturally, but obviously much nicer that way. Anyway have to take kids to pre-school now, so will be back on later. Karenxx
