Hi all,

Well after months of deliberating over doing the cambridge diet, i plucked up the courage to call my local councillor, and have been tonight to have a chat and get my packs etc.

So I am starting Tuesday, if anyone else is new to this and wants to chat and offer any encouragement then I'd love to hear from you. Or equally anyone that is currently doing this then if you can offer any advice then I'd be more than grateful.

Its all a bit daunting, I have about 6 stone to lose, which I wasnt too surprised at. But I'm sure with some positive thinking and keeping my fingers out the biccy tin, then I'll get to my target, eventually!

I will write in tomorrow just to let you know how my first day is going.

Hi Gillian, I have just started LL, which i believe is pretty simular except for the price Eeker
I found the first 3 days hell, i won't lie to you, it was very difficult....but CD might be different? On Ll we cannot eat anything for 14weeks to start with, 4 food packs a day and 4ltres of water, how does that compaire to cd?
i'm on day 6, and feeling great!!! its odd though i didn't drink much yesterday and I didn't feel so good, so i would really reconmend drinking plenty, it does help speed up the whole process...and as for that 6stone, i've almost 8 to lose, so i know where you are coming from...my first target though is for 100 lbs less, and take it from there.

I'm sure there are lots of lovely peeps on here, whom are on CD and will be able to offer you loads of advice, but i'm happy to share my highs and lows with you as, CD and LL are very simular...and like i say i'm only a little bit ahead of you.

Good luck! x

Hi hun and welcome to our lovely forum!

Ive been on and off CD for the past god knows how long and the best piece of advise I can give you is to stay strong and focus. It will be hard for the first few days but after day 4 / 5 it will be fine.

Good luck to you and keep coming on here for support!

hello Gillian,
welcome to the forum, and ditto what Julie said the first few days are hard but once you have them under your belt you will feel fab.. come here whenever you need support, drink plenty of water and your first weeks loss will spur you on...there is an unofficial recipes page for ideas with your packs once you are more established on it i will bump it up for you and the other newbies...
good luck

Well I am proud, end of DAY 1 and I have been so good. Havent strayed off diet at all and managed to drink 3 litres of water.

I must admit I do feel a little bit hungry but nothing to bad, and I am a little lightheaded.
Dinner time was the worst! I was so tempted just to have a taste! But am proud to say I didnt.

I had a strawberry shake for brekkie, a leek & potato soup for lunch and the oriental chilli at dinner time. They all tasted good, much better than I thought.

When do you go for your first weigh in bigbird74? My councillor says biggest weightloss she had in a week was 1st 8lb, thats something else!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya Mumsy, well done on your first day of SS, its not easy is it?
My first weigh in is tonight at 7pm, i think looking at my scales i've lost 8lbs. Which TBH i 'm a bit gutted with, as everyone like you say i've heard have had major weight loss, if i can't even do fab on the first week then what will it be like the rest of the jurney?
Don't get me wrong i'm not down, and i know 8lb is fab, normally i'd be well impressed, i think its just cos unlike every other diet i've ever done i've actually stuck to it. And it feels like iv'e worked my butt off. Who knows maybe my coucillors scales will read differently? - i'll let you know!

My worst days, were 2nd 3rd and 6th(yesterday). Yesterday i found myself in the jar of chillis?? I didn't eat any, but i did so want one Lol.
Cooking for the family is very difficult, my boy is disabled and on a high calorie diet, so i have to make him lots of creamy sauces, and pastas, curry and rice etc....which i also love Frowner

Anyway i think you've done fab, its really not easy is it. WEll done you xx

Welldone, Gillian, on getting through Day 1... you did excellently.. just take it a day at a time. and you will get there...

Big bird ( i don't like calling you that but i don't know your name)
8lbs is excellent for a first weeks loss and it may well be more on you CDC scales.. also i know people who have had a good but slightly lower loss the 1st week and then had as good a loss the 2nd week everyonw is different.. so don't feel disheartened.. just keep sticking at it..

Good Luck for the weigh in tonight Bigbird,

I'll check in later to see how you get on. To be honest, I would be quite chuffed if I lost 8lbs in my first week, that would be the most I had ever lost on a weight management programme.

Right here goes this difficult time again, dinner time for my wee boy!!

Bye for now!

DAY 2

I am pleased to say has gone really well! I was expecting to feel a bit 'off' today, but i've been fine, which is fab.

Although I have to admit last night after I was on here I suddenly felt very sick, but had some water and took myself off to bed, and all was well this morning.

Today I've had a hot choccy orange shake, and a spicy tomato soup (wasnt as spicey as I would have liked, but still nice enough!).

Thanks Claire for bumping up the recipes, I have to say I've really been missing chewing food, which sounds silly, but after seeing the recipe for the chocolate, I had to have a try.
I used the choccy orange, but have to say, it was vile! It is now in the bin! Looking forward to trying the muffins tho!

Will it do any damage to the diet because I've only had 2 packs? Still managed 3 litre of water. (the exercise running up and downstairs to the loo all the time will be helping!)

Lastly, a big thank you to all that have posted, all the positive comments really do help.

hey, well done, another day over with huh!

i lost 10lbs at my weigh in so was pleased with that.

i got given the bars last night, we are allowed one a day, i tried one last night and it fab to have food to chew....i loved it! I know not many ppl like the bars, but i think being so deprived has made me enjoy everything more.

We only have an upstairs loo, so i know what you mean about running up and down....last night at our meeting, we all kept popping in and out to the loo, it was very amusing.

Good luck getting through today, i found day 3 my worst, i hope you find it easier! xx

DAY 3

Ohhhh, today has been such a test on my willpower! Hubby has been off work, we took our little boy to McDonalds, hubby had a chippy tea, then to top it off had to watch my sister eat a choccy bar in front of me tonight.
BUT - I managed it, I didnt have anything apart from my CD packs.

Have to admit though, today I have been absolutely starving, and so easily could have eaten something I shouldnt!

Does anyone know if you can chew gum? I have such a bad taste in my mouth and I am desperate just to chew something!!

Tomorrow is my neice's birthday, so theres going to be cake etc... and wine! Aaargh! Lets hope my willpower is as good as it was today.

DAY 4 AND 5

Still going strong and chuffed with myself! My neices party yesterday was a tough one, ohhh chocolate cake, the works!! Then at night hubby comes in with an Indian, my fave too, chicken tikka masala, and to make it worse he was telling me it wouldnt do any harm just to have a small bit since I've been doing well.

Yesterday I also felt quite weird, hard to say what was wrong, but I just didnt feel right at all.

Today however, I have to say has been easy and I've been feeling fab, so hopefully, thats the very hard part over and I wont be feeling as hungry from now on. I am just loving the vegetable soup, think I could live on that.

Hows everyone else doing??

Gillian
