I am from parenting thread, and need to los some weight! Despite what my ticker might say (I'm going to update it asap), I am over 11.5 stone, and my goal is 10 stones. I start weightwatchers tonight, first meeting, so I'm a little nervous! I just need to know, what are all the abreviations on here? I am a little confused by them all...
I'm also doing the sport relief mile this year, with my little madam and my DP, and the Marie Curie Swimathon in April. I'm determined to do well in them, so I'm starting my training now. And I have to retrain my boyfriend in what to cook and eat! He loves burgers, potato waffles an baked beans...
Hope to talk to you all soon, I know you'll all be supportive! Sarah xx

Your family looks gorgeous! And congratulations on your baby girl
I'm not sure what abbreviations you want me to explain!? Erm CD is the Cambridge Diet - a weight loss programme that limits your intake of calories. There a three popular programmes like these and they are called Lighter Life (LL), CD, and LipoTrim (LT). These diets are collectively known as Very Low Calorie Diets (VLCD) as in general terms you can have three shakes and at minimum 2.5litres of water. Each shake satchet is calorie controlled and the theory is that your body burns the stores of fat within itself (each shake has recommended levels of nutrients and vitamins) without taking in excess calories from carbohydrates etc in regular meals. I'm not sure how clear that is sorry! But vlcds are generally for men and women who have a lot of weight to lose. (There are some great sites on the internet that can explain these VLCDs a lot better than me )
I'm sure you know SW (Slimming World) and of course WW (weight watchers) - but as I've never done either, someone else may need to tell you what to expect from the meetings/programmes etc.
If you come across any other abbreviations (or my explanation is as rubbish as I think it is! ) or need any help, advice etc ask away! It's probably the same on the parenting thread but everyone is so supportive and informative here
Good luck on your loss and in fact, well done for doing something about it!

Best luck! It's really hard when you have a partner to cook for (and I am not even starting on kids), little tips (though I am not perfect myself), I find it easier to cook things I am not so kin on myself and also sometimes I cook something alternative for myself, like a version of his things that I am allowed (though I am low cal Atkins, which is easier). Anyway, you are doing well!
Hi Sarah, welcome to the weightloss forum good luck with your weightloss and congrats on your little girl, shes beautiful. im sure your gonna do fab and theres always someone on here if you want to rant about anything or brag even.lol

thank you for your compliments, my family are great. Craig has been better this week, and is helping me through! I'm on WW core plan, and am wanting chocolate ALL the time at the minute... but I am combatting this by eating fruit, and now have an addiction to beetroot.... bizarre.
I'll be comin on as much as poss with a little minx learning to crawl, and I'm glad I've found more friends on here xx

If you are sick and tired of your flabby abs, then here are some easy fast weight loss ideas:-
• Soft drinks cannot benefit you in any way. They contain 150 empty calories, so if you substitute one bottle of soft drink with water each day, it will do wonders for you. It will enable you to lose about 16 lbs per year. • Sometimes boredom becomes a cause of overeating, so keep yourself busy. • If you want to seriously control your weight, then you have to stop yourself from getting lured into trying tempting foods. • As important is to pay attention to the fact that we eat the right food, equally vital is to keep a watch on the quantity. Without altering your diet plan, even if you’ll reduce 5-10% of your consumption, it will prove beneficial. • Eat slowly so that you can get a feeling that you have had enough food and your tummy is full. Eat slowly and fully relish the taste. Ya I know there are many ideas which get help in reducing weight, but I think these are few points which are best. Bye Take Care !

Exercise, in addition to burning calories, also builds muscle. Strength training or weight-bearing exercise in particular, builds muscle mass. Muscle tissue burns more calories than fat tissue even when you're at rest, so adding muscle helps elevate your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day. If you're afraid to work out with weights because you don't want to get big bulky "man muscles", do more repetitions with less weight and you'll get that long, lean dancer-like look.
Muscle tissue also takes up less volume than an equivalent weight of fat tissue, so as you add muscle and lose fat, you get slimmer looking even if the scale doesn't initially show a lot of weight loss.
