I have tried the porridge and i think it is disgusting,i found the porridge quite decieving as well. it looks like ready brek, so i assumed it would taste like ready brek far from it. I also tried adding some artificial sweetner to the porridge but it didnt make a difference.

I think that the porridge is like marmite -you either love it or hate it

Well, although I expected it to be a little thicker - I loved loved loved it. I don't know how on earth they've managed it but if they can remove the carbs from oats etc then surely a savoury bar can't be too much of a stretch?

Just tried the porridge.... and its not for me.
I am not a porridge lover at the best of times, but I kinda hoped I would be able to take this.
It is (of what I was able to eat) very filling.

Anyone know of anything we can add to it to make it a bit more pleasant??

Hi CD porridge lovers - or haters - try this - make your porridge - then stir in a small amount of cold skimmed milk with a teaspoon of toffee & walnut or whatever flavour you have around or prefer - it also cools the porridge down so you can eat it straight away. Really lovely - I had two yesterday and er I reckon it helps keep you regular too!!!!

Enjoy and well done Cambridge.

It's great! Maybe someone will come up with some recipes using it for cakes/flapjacks or something!

Hi Beefybird

Cakes and flapjacks with the porridge is a definite no. Had this question on another forum and I took advice from our Head Office, here is copy of post I did on the other forum:

Hi Folks

Sorry to be party pooper again.

Flapjacks are definitely NOT ALLOWED (although I must admit they did sound good).

The analogy given is if you cook corn with water in a microwave it remains corn if you cook with no water or not enough water it becomes popcorn and the structure is changed. Drinking extra water WILL NOT compensate.

The same applies in a way to all CD packs - no pack can be put in a microwave for more than 15 secs without destroying the composition or nutritional balance. In the past it was said one would be okay, however, this has now been retracted after further research.

15min rule - if you leave longer than 15mins it will solidify and become hard.

Hi does that mean we cant cook any of our packs to make all the other things I thought you had to microwave the porridge for longer than 15 secs anyway ,what about the mixamousse do you have to eat that straight away as soon as it is set,and if you freeze to make chocolate,im confused

The porridge is different to the other packs and can be microwaved for 1 minute it is the water content that is important.

The mousse if used with powdered shakes has to be consumed within 15 mins as the rule applies, it is different if the mousse is made with the ready made shakes.

Same with the ice cream, only freeze the ready mades not the powdered shakes.
