Vanity in a way...

I went out with a pal...it was supposed to be a huge munch and a flick but decended into my personal horror - mooching around 'thin' shops...

While she was trying on the latest fashions i was feeling more and more miserable in myself.

I tried to hide it well but after the 5th shop my stomach was in a knot and i actually felt sick...

I felt stressed out, i felt like a spare heel...waiting for her to come out of the dressing rooms was all i could stand...and a tad jealous - not of her as a person (i love her to bits) but that she had the luxury of picking fantastic items off the shelf and try them on with a twirl...

I said i was too sick to trapse around anymore and made excuses and left... I wanted so badly for it to be US to try on clothes...but nothing would come close to fitting...

I simply had to do something...

Ivy.

[:I]I was laid in the bath - with a face cloth over my fat so i could not see my huge wobbly stomach - and I was reading a magazine that my mum brought down!
In it there was an article about a woman who had lost 6 stone in 5 months on Lighter Life and kept the weight off for a year!
I pulled the plug whilst still sat in the bath and when I eventually stood up - a gush of water that had been Damned behind me rushed towards the plug hole!
I went downstairs to my husband and told him that i was going to start a new weight loss programme called lighter Life - and I did 2 weeks ago!
I have lost 1 stone 5lbs and feel better already!
ARTYJOE - your photos are so inspiring - you look so beautiful![8)]

Hi Jules!

Whether you already have a large family or not I think that's a bit unreasonable of your GP[Frowner!] I have my fingers crossed for you that the weightloss will kick in the fertility. Maybe once you've shown the doc how serious you are and lost weight he may have a change of heart? Let's hope so.

Hi Jules,

When I thought I had PCOS I actually bought Clomid online. Not that it did anything. It didn't work for me.

I would agree with you to wait until you lost weight and see if fertilty kicks in.

How much do you need to lose?

Well, after much pondering, here are my reasons (starting LL this Weds hurrah)

1) When fastening my work trousers which have a side zip became a struggle - I mean come on, fastening pants shouldn't make you gasp for air should it?!

2) When painting/cutting toenails became difficult....difficult to the point I thought my lungs were bleeding!

3) When the wire in my bra began poking my flob under my arms - I will not wear non wired lol.

4) When getting up from sitting on the floor became something akin to a three point turn when driving!

5) When NOTHING and I mean NOTHING in my wardrobe was flattering....

6) After being described by a customer at work as, 'You know, that fat lass with the pretty eyes' G*MP!

7) When it became impossible to stand on one leg without the serious risk that any nearby, small children would get injured. (I have two kids!)

8) When a casual glance in a shop window of my reflection brought me to tears.

9) When I stopped socialising as I couldn't bear the thought of being talked about......'Hasn't she got big??' etc etc

10) When I had avoided getting my haircut for over 6 months (I'm v vain in this dept lol) for the same reason as above.

11) Seeing OBESE in flashing red capital letters appear on the screen when my GP worked out my BMI - amazing what seeing it in black and white does, well this case red lol.

12) When I looked back and realised that the person my husband had fallen in love with had all but disappeared under a mountain of crisp induced blub and realising that HE deserved better, and so did I and so did my two children.

13) When the back ache from bending over and cleaning the bath got sooo bad I would try to avoid doing it! eurgh....

We all have different amounts to lose, some more than others and vice versa, BUT we have all been affected enough by our weight to have to do something like this. We have all cried, we have all hurt, we have all day-dreamed about being slimmer, we have all got REALLY angry when trying to buy clothes, we have all felt ashamed of ourselves, but that aside, what REALLY matters is that we are doing something amazingly positive, that has such peace enducing, soul enhancing results.... May we all succeed on our journey and hold each others hands whilst we do it!

ive got 6 stone ish to lose before i reach my goal weight.
Starting weight 20st 7
lost 25lbs
On diet for nearly 5 weeks now

My doctor wont do a thing even if i lose weight, he says in our area the practise is if you have over 2 children you cant even get first fertility checks. So will go private in July.

My moment(s) were when I realised I would eat for no reason (or excuse). I had to buy the biggest size clothes I had ever brought before and if I didn't gain control of my eating I would end up in an early grave.

God bless this diet.
