Hi I have about 10 to 13 stone to lose, depending on how I feel after losing 10 stone! In the past 6 years I have gotten this big, and I have been on CD for nearly 14 days now, and have lost 6 lbs. I just hope that I can stick to this and lose the weight I want. (Im struggling right now!) Its great to find others that have a lot to loose too.. thanks for starting this thread! Leigh

Thankyou all so much for your postings. I am on Lighter Life, but am beginning to wish I had found Cambridge first. Firefly, could you tell me about how, and why, you changed? If you don't want to put it on here, my e mail is westhillsuk@gmail.com. I know that we can support one another on here. It's easier to put your true feelings here than it is to say them in a group - a lot easier. We all know the problems we have, that go along with being very heavy, and perhaps we can share ways we deal with things. Feet are one thing - when you can't reach them, they're hard to take care of. In fact personal hygeine and beauty in general are very high maintenance when you are big. HOWEVER, we are now all on the road to Slimland, where we can look after ourselves a whole lot better. It will be a long road, but it IS possible, and when we're there, we could have a meet up, or something. What a day that will be. (Note "will" not "would") Ann x

Ann, what a great idea for a thread, brilliant[ ] When I first started L.life my counsellor used to have an extra pop in session for those who had a lot to loose, it really helped[ ] I know how daunting it can be when you have a lot to loose, I started of with having 14stones to loose, now about 2 -21/2 to go... My advise would be to break it down into a few stones at a time, otherwise it can be too dauting.... Stick with it, and keep this thread going[ ]

Hi I'm Sarah, 25 and have about 12-14 stone to lose to health a healthy BMI... its really daunting[|)]have been on the LL programme since Januray 3rd and have lost 2 stone 3 pounds [ ]which is excellent and am very proud of that but is still overwhemling to think i have another 10 to go at least[ ]... like Ann am finding the new starters threat really helpful, and Ann has been brilliant when struggle at work... thank you so much but somethings can be hard when others in my group at max size 16 and moaning, its not somehting i can relate to.. like Ann and others have mentioned its fitting into seats, finding things big enough in Evans and having to shop online not through choice but as nowhere stocks big things.... Am keeping focused on getting below the 20 stone mark, which for me would be an accomplishment and something i haven't been since been i turned 20... but that alone is scarey enough... but would like to congratulate and praise everyone who has made that decision to do somthing about their weight... its amazing and your're doing brilliantly just to be on a plan[ ] best wishes Sarah X

Thanks Sarah. We're all in it for the long term, and there WILL be difficult times for all of us. Would any of you be interested in forming a sort of club, or group, outside of this forum? We could communicate by e mail ( as well as on this forum) and it might make it easier for us to form a long lasting and cohesive group. If anyone is interested, please e mail me westhillsuk@gmail.com Ann x

Hi all Starting CD on Monday, 30th and have about 11 stone to lose. I have done, quite a few diets in the past never got anywhere near my goal weight, gave up eventually as they take to long. Its so depressing when you have eaten nothing but lettuce all week and they tell you you have lost .5 pound. The end result is always the same I put on the weight I lost and loads more[ ] - why does that happen! Decided to do Sole source CD as I think I need that control. Plus couldn't face the WW lady asking me for the humpteenth time "whats your goal for the week" - deh lose weight. This is the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life - and I am not getting heavier - how about that for determination, hope I still feel the same this time next week. Good luck everyone Barbara XX

Hi Westhills, I have around 10 stone to lose and at the moment I am just researching the best option between CD and LL. I think it is an excellent idea to form another thread to give even more help and support. Jen

Ann Well done on the weight loss - I like the sound of the "feel great". Still waiting for my CDC to call me to pick the foodpacks up and can't wait to get started - my kitchen and fridge is beginning to look like a plague of locusts have been though it - I will have to get used to all the empty space. Hello, Sarah, Barbara, Jen, and everyone else who is taking and interest in this thread. Yes, I DO feel great, in comparison to how I felt before starting LL. I felt, hopeless, unable to do almost anything, and now, 3 weeks later, I can say I feel great, it's totally amazing. I know I have a long way to go, but already the stairs are easier, I can stand to do the ironing for longer than I could before my back starts hurting. The daily tasks in the bathroom are definitely easier. Just to get dry after a shower was a big task before, and now it just seems easier. I can paint my toe nails! Small achievements for a "not so big" person, but I hope all reading this thread can relate to them. I feel hopeful about the future now - that is new. I really think I can do this. I f any of you have any tips to share about, beauty products, toiletries, clothes - anything to help us look the best we can, and feel good about ourselves whilst we are on our journey - please post them on here. Together, we can finally join in life on a level playing field, without having to be better than others just to be the same, because we are fat. Ann xxx

Hello everyone, Ive just stumbled across this thread and its been an inspiration to me! I joined LL in september and my 100 days was up at christmas, i lost 5 stone...im just back from 3 weeks all inclusive hols and needless to say had a bit of a blow out while i was there, all those cocktails etc...but, im back to group on tuesday and am determined to really get back into it with a swing. Ive got about another 12 stone to loose before the real me emerges, well maybe thats a bit optimistic, maybe about 8 and I would be happy, it would suit me fine to get to a size 18 so i can shop at any store, im not bothered what i weigh just about the size. Congrats to all those loosing weight and a big "you can do it" to those of us who have a break for whatever reason. Great thread and well done, its heart warming!!
