Welcome to the Forum and Congrats on making the best decision of your life! []
Yes, your best bet is to cut down on your carbs and up your water intake. It really will make your first week so much easier and you won't end up with all the carb withdrawals and headaches.
Once you get past that first week, it really does get easier and you will love the results.
Keep us posted and good luck. You are going to look Fab this summer!

If you gradually increase your water intake your body will get use to it, four days low carbing will make a big difference and will get you into ketosis much quicker and the transition should be less traumatic.
As Buddha Belly as said you will look fab for the summer.
Good luck with your journey and be sure to keep posting on how you are doing.
Chutney, Murfie, Boobyjude, PurplePatch and Zareena are very good on the low carb, so they will have lots of useful hits for you and Claire of course.

I shall keep you posted - not that you'll have much choice mind - I intend on abusing this facilty as much as possible lol to help me through the initial stages...[]I love this little community on here, so reassuring and friendly.
I keep looking at the 5 litre bottle of water OH has bought for me and thinking, 'NO WAY can I drink THAT much in a day' lol, we shall see eh?!

I cut out carbs 3 days before starting LL and I had a headache for one day and felt fine by the third day.
so I'd say - yes cut out the carbs. I didn't know about all the water but I already drank quite a bit - I'm sure it will help. And so will putting on display an outfit a size smaller than you are as a reminder of what you are doing and then the next size down and then the next...
This is a fab diet and you will look stunning come the summer.

I am 5ft.4inches and I can now after some long practise drink on average while SSing 4/5litres. And I feel comfortable at that now. I think it is best to work the water out for yourself and what you feel best at.
Anyways keep posting and your sure to get all the advice as the days go by.
Only for this forum I would not of got as far as I have and I think posting and getting the support available here is magic.
I find we all learn so much from one another as we go.
I hope you have taken some photos as a record of yourself as the weight comes off so fast in the first four weeks, you will hardly recognize yourself, so photos do come in so handy as the brain takes ages to get use to the huge weight loss.
Also measuring yourself from the neck down and upper arms and wrists everything is another useful record.
I have ones taken in my big knickers[:I] Mind you, now the knickers are also getting that bit smaller as time goes on[]

I bought myself my first Thong ever, it is size 14[:I]in red with nice little bit of lace, not that there much of it in it. But have not even dared to try it on as yet, need to shift another stone or so and will surprise the husband some night[:0]
I do hope it will work out as a good surprise, for my safaries into these jungles have not always turned out like what I would expect, I have a strange feeling my husband could be a bit like Hugh Grant and have a thing for those "bucket knickers"[V][xx(]
